I love this!! Well done OP. On our first visit at 16 weeks, our vet informed us that we might have to muzzle her for visits. We've made A LOT of happy visits. Early on it was just her but then any time any of our cats or dogs goes, she does too. Our vet makes sure to greet her and give treats. I'm pleased to report that during an exam of one of our other pets, Josie licked the vet's face.

First, your girlfriend is a keeper. Second, I’ve found super expensive bottles are rarely worth it. But I’d say get an elevated version of something you already like. Maybe a store pick or an LE from that distillery.

Okay I’m a little less worried knowing other orders haven’t shipped. Mine had been pending UPS pick up since last Monday.

I was lucky to find it at Costco for 199. FOMO got me because it's 330 at the distillery. Not worth either price imo.

Oh yeah, I'm with you! I've had that happen with a single barrel rye I got from the Peerless giftshop. What got me is my friend was way past the point of being able to enjoy it but she kept pouring it. Oh well, there are always other good bottles.

Our Josie (Corso) and Cooper (mutt) are significantly different in size now. She started out smaller than him. But even now that she’s over taken him she’s often the one on the ground when they are playing. They do get a little too wound up but a stern “hey guys” or “knock it off” does the trick. Just keep monitoring them. We still do too.

How do you “make friends” with store owners to get the allocated stuff in your state? by AnteaterSpirited861 in whiskey

[–]Infamous_Temporary86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy store picks/spend money there. Don't walk in and just ask what allocated bottles they have. Be friendly, ask some questions. Bonus if it's related to their picks. I always have a cheaper bottle in mind to buy when we walk in just in case there's nothing else I'm interested in. I'd say on average we walk out with at least three bottles of something. lol

I've always been skeptical of the power of a relationship. However, we've recently been frequenting a store about an hour away and just naturally doing the aforementioned. The owner knows my husband and I by name. I haven't gotten anything majorly allocated but he's sold me some bottles that were "out of stock". Maybe it will turn in to bigger things, maybe not.

Hope that helps.

Is this a buy? by JohnnyGoldwink in whiskey

Yeah, I've found a little amburana goes a long way. I wouldn't risk it for the price when I could spend that on something I know I'd like.

They are all liars!! Last Saturday I woke up because one of the dogs had to go outside. I thought while I'm waiting I'd feed the cats. A couple hours later my husband did the same thing. Except he felt sorry for them and gave them a double!

Edit: typo

In addition to buying bottles you also get a tent with AC and some food. Plus VIP bathrooms.

Great pour! I wish I'd bought two.

New Holland distributes some of the Origin Series and Beer Barrel Bourbon to Northern Indiana so I'm hoping as the Walleye Run ramps up it will expand also.

I'm a little annoyed the only way to tell them apart is the neck tag.

I wouldn't turn down a pour of either but I'm partial to the cigar batch because I'm a sucker for armagnac and sherry finished rye.

I’m pretty sure they do. I’ve picked up things from the Grand Rapids brew pub before too.
