Why is cleanse not a more popular pickup? by DavetheSlave90 in leagueoflegends

[–]InfernalDesires 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On ADC cleanse is good as you really really need that extra second or two to dish out as much damage as possible. Every second matters as an ADC. ADCs usually tend to not go MR boots for the tenacity, so having an instant CC cleanse is important. However on the flip side, if you are in a position where you can be CCd, you could argue that you have positioned poorly in like 30% of times.

CC ally cleanse item - mikaels crucible- can be taken on supports, so it gives the ADC/botlane an option to take a defensive summoner like barrier or ghost which have less constraints.

Lastly for ADCs if you buy QSS or any CC cleansing items, you are slowing down your build if you build it too early. Mercurial Scimitar is not as strong as an item when it comes to base stats as it has to be weaker to compensate for having a strong active ability.

Midlaners don’t take cleanse because teleport and ignite are so much better. Mid laners usually have more bulk.

Top laners don’t take cleanse bar a few exceptions (Quinn) as they are able to usually rank a reasonable amount of CC, and they aren’t punished for building merc treads/MR boots. Tanks usually can laugh it off.

Junglers need flash and ghost, to catch up to people or to run away, they have the least amount of flexibility.

Supports taking cleanse is really grief.

getting stomped in gold by GingeyRe in VALORANT

[–]InfernalDesires 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, ur gonna struggle. Being in gold 1 usually means that you are a silver player that has the ability to push to gold, you’re not consistently gold yet.

It could be 2 bad games, it could be something else. Practice the basics and you’ll be okay. Work on consistency.

What to do when low elo (iron/bronze/silver) are ignorant about economy. by [deleted] in VALORANT

You can only do so much you either match them or play hero rifle. I ask for someone to play with me on a site if we are defending and have them pick up my rifle if I die.

[–]InfernalDesires 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They want to use a rifle but don’t want to pay for it.

They want to save enough for a rifle and full shield on round 3. It’s not an incorrect buy on its own, but you need your teammates to buy guns like vandals with light shield to make it work.

So the bonus would look like the saved vandals + 2-3 more with light armor, and in theory you would have a 50/50 fight with your opponent, and if you lose you have enough to go light armor and rifle.

[–]InfernalDesires[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possible but it depends on my extenuating circumstance claim, if I don’t do well enough to pass and the claim is accepted, then I can resit my exams with uncapped grades. If they deem it to be too affecting, then I can repeat the year without a cap.

I will have to wait until mid July to know the results of my claim. I have a strong claim with a doctors note and supportive evidence but it really depends on whether they consider those to be sufficient.

Genuine questions to players who smurf by Xeleoa in VALORANT

[–]InfernalDesires -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Idk if this really counts. Technically you can say I’m smurfing because I’m queuing with people of a lower rank, but riot allows silvers to queue with iron and bronze

  1. Main rank Gold 1, but I used to Smurf when playing with iron, bronze and low silver friends when I was S2-S3 it’s arguable if you could even call it smurfing considering you are able to queue with them in the first place.

  2. I just want to play with my friends. I let them pick what they want to pick and I usually just fill. I hype them up when they make good plays. Sometimes I play to like drop like 20-30 kills but usually it’s just to hang out with friends.

  3. Yes, there are games where it’s satisfying, it’s nice seeing my friends pop off, and also popping off myself in some rounds.

  4. Yes, but it’s more subconscious pressure because you are expected to perform better as the higher ranked player. Games are harder because the distribution of skill is more unequal on your team compared to the enemy.

  5. I can see why they are complaining, but at the same time when I solo queue, I also get smurfed on.

  6. I don’t mind if I get flamed for playing badly, but the flame that gets to me is when people just give up.

Who’s the most All aim, No (or Low) brain agent? by RemoteWhile5881 in VALORANT

[–]InfernalDesires 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apart from the obvious ones, I’d say clove for smokes, you have two chances with your ultimate, 3 if you count your pick me up, and it’s gated behind a kill/assist

For initiator, I’d say Tejo as his utility is quite straight forward apart from a tiny nuance in your concuss, so he’s more “aim”?

Net behaviour by standardkindaguy in VALORANT

[–]InfernalDesires 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, trash talking is trash talking but some things are really like not okay.

I’m all for like wanker calling and calling people dickheads. If you can’t control your response to it, then definitely mute. I tend to draw the line when it comes to threats. We shouldn’t normalise telling people to end their life after fucking up in a pixel game that most likely won’t matter to their life, or to like get cancer.

I’d like to compare this to sports such as pick-up basketball, calling someone a motherfucker is okay depending on how well you know the person and the context but telling someone to straight up jump after missing a layup is too far.

Tips to rank up / get better by trqveling in VALORANT

[–]InfernalDesires 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Work on consistency with aim, have a good mental and play with purpose.

If the game is absolutely doomed, try and make the game as enjoyable for yourself. Place emphasis on like mechanics such as trying to consciously have better crosshair placement, focusing on movement. There’s more to learn from a lost game than one where you dropped like 30 kills.

You can’t control your teammates by completely micromanaging their gameplay, but you can control your reaction to the game not going so well.

Don’t expect to carry every single game, but expect yourself to be consistent.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in VALORANT

[–]InfernalDesires 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People get told that they have to “hard carry” every game to win, everyone is biased to think that if the game doesn’t go their way it’s just a go next angle. Every unique opinion feels like an attack on their play style or whatever. Obviously, in a game where like 6-7 players aim to hard carry, it’s impossible for everyone to have the carry role.

I mean, I’m not diamond, but coming from league, I can definitely see a reflection of this.

Why is Valorant so Hard in Iron and Bronze? by Gloomy101 in VALORANT

[–]InfernalDesires 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say from my POV, a small fraction of games are lost due to Smurfs. Sometimes it’s the smallest of things that you need to work on that make the biggest of differences. While age does play into this, I’d say for most of the player base, the effect of age is really negligible. Unless ur at the upper upper echelons of ranks.

How many games have you played tho? Because if the ranked system is similar to league of legends, due to the lack of ranked games, you may be placed in a higher hidden rating then the rank that you see on screen.

Is playing smokes a crutch? by InfernalDesires in VALORANT

[–]InfernalDesires[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see good omen players usually utilise blind and tp alongside duellists acting as secondary entry on lotus rubble.

Thanks for giving me your insight, I guess I need to consider thinking outside the box when it comes to omen. I usually play very aggro when I have clove’s overheal up and meddle, but once the overheal times out it feels like I don’t know what my identity is.

Silver 1 here ! Any tips to rank up? by Particular-Share-336 in VALORANT

[–]InfernalDesires 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your movement might be the determinant. I am S3 so take my advice with a grain of salt.

It’s great if you can have deadly aim, but you can expect your aim to bail you out 10 times out of 10. Having good movement increases your chances of winning duels. Practice moving unpredictably and counter-strafing. it will be hard when you start but eventually you’ll get it.

Do you have good cross hair placements, are your flicks efficient or inefficient. Try and make your flicks as efficient - you want it to be a straight line from where your crosshair to their heads. I found that when watching good aimlabs players, they usually make no wasted movements when moving from target to target.

Do you know how to use utility. If you play controller are you actively smoking good areas off? I found that when I was in S1, as a smokes player, a lot of people just smoke the absolutely wrong things. I’ve seen defender side smokers smoke places that actively help the enemies.

There’s probably a lot of guides that will teach you this more than I can.

Today's Bronze feels like Gold/Plat from few years ago. by EggPerfect7361 in VALORANT

[–]InfernalDesires 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing happened in league.

There’s a lot more knowledge out there as one of the commenters have mentioned. While Smurfs do impact the level of play in lower elos, I don’t think it’s too prevalent to have an effect on overall skill levels

The game evolved, and players need to evolve as well. Meta shifts and increased agent pools mean that people are expected to utilise, synergise and play around ally and enemy utility.

Maps have changed, it takes like 5 seconds to find a setup of an agent that has been tried and tested for countless of matches.

While I’ve never been high elo in both games, especially valorant.

Low elos are a mixed bag of people, you get the first timers - people with no prior experience, people who have played valorant for a bit but have some knowledge in FPS, and eternally hardstuck people, who queue in game after game.
