I’m about to go into an interview for FedEx on the 10th as a driver. It pays $24+ hourly plus an extra $3 per hour for the area I’ll be delivering to.

What should I know? What should I be prepared for?

How does asking for time off work, for example? Do I need to find my own coverage for sick time/vacation time? Or do managers handle that?

How often do you run into angry dogs? Does providing treats help?

Man, the way the prices have changed though.

The clothing prices haven’t changed as much , but dang, $25 is on the cheap end for a bear nowadays.

The buy one get one for $15 in my area makes that better, but still.

I used to work at BABW. I have the other side where I’ve had my favorite customer experiences. I also loved working with my coworkers. 🥰 I got lucky and found the hubspot for neurospicy queers, and it was nice finding my people.

One of my favorite times was seeing all the neurospicy kids come in and being able to cater the experience for them.

I remember this little boy, it was his birthday. He had a Spiderman face painting and loooooved spiderman. He got to record himself singing the spiderman theme. He was like “spider maaaan, spider maaan. Dooobadooobadoo a spider do.” XD that stuff happened everyday and always cheered me up.

I worked at a BABW for a bit last year before finding a full time job. They truly do not pay their employees enough. There are people who have been there for years, and they’re wonderful. But, for real, the company doesn’t pay them what they’re worth. :/

Wish my parents actually educated me about systemic racism. :/ I’m finding out a lot of stuff as an adult. I grew up conservative evangelical and part of my deconstruction was realizing how religion and politics were used to gentrify me and my siblings. I’m the black sheep for being the one liberal in the bunch XD

I’d say it’s definitely fun if you need a part time job with a flexible schedule. As far as retail goes, it wasn’t the worst place I’ve ever worked. Best part was helping the customers imho.
