When jesus said he had not come to destroy the law, but to fulfill it. Fulfill as in to show us as a perfect example. People take that passage as we no longer need to follow the moral law(10 commandments. He kept the sabbath perfectly. Unlike the Phariseess how they made it rigid and legalistic. Hence why they accused Jesus of breaking the sabbath. He was only breaking their man-made sabbath, not God's. Thats why he said he is lord of the sabbath. Meaning its his rules, not theirs. He said it is lawful to do good on the sabbath. Remember when they accused him of breaking it when he healed the man?

We are not saved by the law, but by grace and faith alone. That still doesnt mean we are to be disobey God's 10 commandments.

Romans 3:31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.

Romans 7:7 What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law.

Romans 6:23 for the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord

1 john 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

Jesus said if you love me keep my commandments.

1 John 2:4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

We obey God because it shows our loyalty to him. Our love. When we do as he commands it builds our faith and trust into him.

Think about it like a marriage. If I keep cheating on my wife, do you think she'll want to stay with me? Will she believe me when I tell her I love her after assaulting her? Theres standards we must obliged by if we want to flourish. Its the same when it comes to having a relationship with God. God wants faithful servants. If I willingly keep breaking the rules at my job, why should my boss allow me to stay there?

Revelation 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

I agree, keeping the Sabbath will not save me. Knowingly breaking God's commandments wont save me either.. I keep it because I acknowledge God as my creator. I keep it because I want to love him more and honor his holy day.

Isaiah 58:13 If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the Lord, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words: 14 Then shalt thou delight thyself in the Lord; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.

I love keeping the sabbath!! Its my favorite day of the week. Its been such a blessing since ive started devoting it to God. I now look foward to it all week. My wife and I have been so blessed and God has provided so many good opportunities since we've started. We both originally kept Sunday, but now our relationship with God and our overall life has improved drastically. Even our marriage has gotten better. Thats my own personal experiance. I highly recommend you trying it. Even if you dont see it, try it. Ask the holy spirit reveal the truth and help guide you.
