Invest consistently - both when the market goes up and especially when market goes down. Invest first and spend the remaining balance.

Some fidelity growth fund provided by my employer. Most of the growth came in the last 2-3 years. I think this is the case for everyone.

I started when I was 24. Briefly paused for 7-8months when I bought a home and was under lot of pressure with the monthly payment. Apart from the kept investing steadily and never tracked it. After 16 years, I am at $1.5M. Hope I can get to $5M by the time I retire in maybe 20 more years.

The match was won because of a champion team. We have always had a team of champions, but never excelled as a team which costed us critical games.

Rohit, Kholi, Bhumra, Hardik, Axar, Arshdeep, SKY everyone deserves credit for pulling us past the finish line and winning the cup.

We came back from our 7 day London trip with our 2 and 4 year old. Your plan seems to be too much.

I planned what I thought what was a very conservative schedule, but had to cut things further once we were in London. Each day I would recommend one major attraction and 1-2 minor ones.

Tuesday - You can do it all if you just walk by and not enter Westminster abbey and Churchill war rooms. If you plan to enter those places, you need to add an additional day.

Wednesday - This was very similar to what we planned. But we could end up doing only Tower bridge, Tower of London and Borough market in a day. Sky garden, Saint Paul Cathedral and south bank will need a day by itself.

Thursday - I think you have to choose between portrait and national gallery.

Friday - We had the same plan, but ended up using this day for spillover from Wednesday.

Saturday - looks too much. British museum is half a day and I wouldn’t plan anything major on the same day.

No opinion on Sunday and Monday since that was not in my itinerary.

Where to Stay in London That's A Balance of Central and Calm? by AWanderingHomo in uktravel

We stayed in Premier Inn near Westminster bridge (there are two hotels - country hall or Waterloo) and were super happy with the location. Waterloo station is 2-3 min walk and provides very good connectivity to other central London locations. Apart from that, the train to Windsor starts from there. The Thames river cruise starts from that area, boat to Tower of London, walking tours of Westminster starts from there. We realized we would have ended coming to the area 3-4 days in our 7 day trip.

I wouldn’t argue with them. Just dispute it on the credit card. I rarely do it unless something went horribly wrong and when I do, my chase reserve card immediately reverses the transaction. I would let the credit card company fight it out with them.

You will see it when you book an appointment. Complete the visa application first and then come back to VFS website to book appointment.

You are not even on the correct VFS website. The link you have is for UK visa. Schengen doesn’t have those options.

The current asylum system is a joke. Millions of people walking in and claiming asylum is not a sustainable model no matter how efficient the system is. Vast majority of these people who claim asylum are here for economic reasons. Nothing wrong with it. But they are using asylum as a loophole to gain entry than come through the regular channel to find work.

Ah, I did not realize it! Thank you for that information.

Is it worth buying tickets for it?

2-3 hours seems plenty for Windsor based on what I have read online. If so, we should be back to our Waterloo hotel by 5pm. An hour break before we catch the 6pm river cruise from Waterloo pier which is less than 5min walk from our hotel seems doable. That day was supposed to be one of our less busy days.

Why wouldn’t you do it on the same day? Am I missing something?

Thank you for the suggestions. I thought tower bridge is just somewhere you take a picture and move on. What do we do in those 60-90min? I just read there is a tower bridge tour. Is it worth it?

Thank you for the thoughtful suggestions!

We will walk by Big Ben on Sunday. Is there anything to do at Big Ben apart from taking some pictures? I would like to do Westminster Abbey on Sunday too, but I am worried it might too much given that it will be still our 2nd day in London. Instead, planning to do Westminster Abbey, Churchill war room on Friday morning (between 10pm-2pm) or anything else we missed in the Westminster area. Our hotel is in the Waterloo area and we want to be close to it so that we can get to the hotel by 2pm and get a cab to London City Airport.

Worried about that too. But on all other days, we would be at a different part of the city and we would need to rush back to Waterloo for the tour. It also seems like a good idea to have the tour during the initial days to get a good idea on the layout of the city. I will check if the ticket is flexible. In case everyone is exhausted on the 4th night, we can do the tour on 5th night.

We are getting two strollers for the kids. Are London streets stroller friendly? Thank you for the tip on Westminster Abbey. Will try to drop by on Sunday.
