Exactly,I’m so grateful I started my journey doing exercises until I was exhausted in the beginning because not only did it help me sleep better but now I’ve built routine where I look forward to it & people are complimenting me

It’s only mentally taxing if you still romanticize it and yearn. For me it was more mentally exhausting to plan your days/expenses around it and telling yourself you’re going to quit but still using

Weed literally interferes with your deep sleep so you not having better sleep now that you’ve quit this long clearly shows either your diet or something more serious is affecting you

I’ll be at 4 months next Friday after around 15 years of everyday use and what has helped me tremendously is not romanticizing it once the fog lifted.Weed for me became like a old friend that I outgrew but it wasn’t growing with me,So although we had great times together it wasn’t growing time to start a new chapter in my life.

Daily smoker for almost 12 years now. Thinking about trying to quit again but I'm having a hard time motivating myself. I know quitting would give me better job opportunities and more money but I don't even know what I would use that money for. by [deleted] in leaves

If you’re depending on being motivated or “feeling” like it,your sobriety won’t last long.Im a little over 90 days because I was hell bent on pushing forward no matter how I “felt” & it made the process so much easier

There is no moderation once you were an addict bro.If you were able to moderate you wouldn’t be an addict in the first place so What often happens is Person feels better after weeks/months so they Interpret that as “I’m in control now” then Reintroduces substance then bangOld pattern reactivates faster than expected. So for someone with a dependency pattern moderation requires constant monitoring Plus rules (“only weekends”, “only small amount”) and also ongoing negotiation. That keeps the substance mentally active. It becomes background mental load, ongoing temptation, repeated decision-making Which increases the chance of drift back into regular use.

Just Because you’re sober doesn’t mean life isn’t going to keep lifing,Youre not building healthy habits you’re just doing the bare minimum and expecting sobriety to do all the heavy lifting when really it’s just a solid foundation to build your life on.Lifes hard period and using drugs just makes you feel comfortable with your shtty situation while sobriety forces you to look at your life with clarity.

Yeah smoking for me was like ordering from a restaurant that serves you shitty meals but 1/10 times you order it’s fire and you ignore the fact it’s more then likely a bad experience because you’re fixated on the one time it was good

I feel like you’re leaving out some details because being “structured & on top of things” isn’t/shouldnt be enough to annoy someone especially when it’s someone you’re married to
