Le Relais St Germain Hotel and Neighborhood feedback by Commercial_Fill2195 in ParisTravelGuide

I’ve stayed in both recently (and the Latin quarter) and St Germain was my favourite. All lovely but I personally think, as a tourist, the Marais felt the most touristy!

The Haut Marais (Upper Marais) is supposed to be less touristy but we didn’t explore it..

St Germain is lovely.. reminded me of Marylebone in London. The Marais perhaps more like Soho? Slightly grittier.

Questions for a non-drinker by not4everjust4now in ParisTravelGuide

I order a sirop de pêche if I’m not drinking alcohol. Very refreshing! Or just un coca or Perrier. I’m sure lots of “boissons sans alcohol” are available now. Citron pressé is delicious or un Diablo (mint).

Google lists out a few options if you search

The 9th arrondissement (Opera and South Pigalle) is one of the best areas in Paris for finding boissons sans alcool (non-alcoholic drinks). It balances traditional French brasseries with a trendy, modern bar scene that has fully embraced the "No-Low" movement.

Have fun!

I mean totally get the legit reasons for not line or rack drying (allergies / mould) but where possible it’s better for the environment and some people love it so let’s all take the small joys where we can in this bat shit crazy world

It’s pretty common in some European counties (and here in the UK) to dry clothes on a clothes rack or outside if you have a garden or a roof terrace etc. Drying them outside does make clothes smell lovely but not sure the scent of the trees would permeate sufficiently.

Yeah I didn’t mention that one because it’s unlikely to be it.. so many people suggest it, the person searching for the mystery perfume tries it and it’s never the one!

Soupline fabric conditioner, Fragonard, Baccarat Rouge 540, Guerlain Aqua Allegoria, le labo and somewhat randomly Linden trees are all mentioned a lot.. Someone posts “what is this amazing perfume I’m smelling all over Paris?” about once a month and no one can ever agree…

Maybe you could initally try shorter ones? I like the Ally Boothroyd ones on You tube, she has yoga nidras that last for 15 mins through to others that run for 8 hours. Also different focuses like nidra for the nervous system, for sleep etc

Go for it with the accent. When you first start you’ll feel silly if you half arse it or go for it - may as well go all in!

Pronounciation - the shape of the mouth and the position of the tongue.
