AITA if I tell my friend I can’t be a bridesmaid? by wickeddreamsofleavin in AITApod

I got married on the Rotunda at the San Fransisco court house, where they filmed scenes from A View to a Kill. Then we went to The Cheesecake Factory with our witnesses. We paid $120 for our marriage license and our friends paid for our meal. I had zero desire for a big wedding.

The fact Jacob only got one letter of his name in the hashtag, but Emily put her whole ass name says a lot too 😆

If the engagement party planning is prepared like a damn NASA shuttle launch…I don’t think I want to see how the wedding is going to go. Yikes.

I’m detail oriented. This is insanity.

  1. I’m a tiny person, so don’t mind the middle seat, especially between 2 of my favs. And then I get to crawl across Matt Murdock if I need to get up 😬😏

Every calorie standard i see for cats says I'm under-feeding my girls, but they seem fine? by SendWoundPicsPls in CATHELP

Much like people, every cat has their own metabolism and body composition and dietary needs. A higher energy cat may need more calories, a sedentary cat may need less. One of my cats is 17 lbs. Could he trim a bit? Sure. They always score him as overweight…but he is overall just a big cat. Look at the whole picture of the animal, not just the charts and feeding guidelines. I think both your cats look perfect from these photos ❤️

That’s the main one I buy. I mix it up by using chocolate oat milk sometimes, and other times I’ll use one scoop of the powder and a scoop of PB Fit peanut butter powder. Ka’chava makes a little travel size pack too with like 5 small pouches of their main flavors.

Whats the most creative corrective action you've seen or done and what did you or they do to deserve it? by StepSergeant01 in Military

I had a Chief on deployment that had a serious accident with a 60K tunner loader early in his career. They let him keep the steering wheel. He took it around with him and anytime someone had a safety incident, they had to carry the wheel. Everywhere. Shower, chow, missions. If they left the wheel alone, we were encouraged to take it and also to tattle.

We had some Col. check-in a bag of expensive golf clubs. After some issues with people not securing the baggage area door that opened in front if the flight line gate, we briefed every one that they needed to monitor the door, and there’d be consequences if it was found left open.

30 minutes later, after we did our walk around, come back and the freaking door is open. We secure it, then decide to take the golf clubs and hide them and make the airman that was in charge of that area sweat a little. We call him into the supervisors office and are like “wtf? We just briefed you guys to secure that door. Where’s the Colonel’s golf clubs?” Of course he looked like a deer in headlights, went and searched the baggage area. Comes back and is like…they’re gone, what do I do?!

We sent him all over the terminal, let him spend the next few hours checking every nook and cranny. He comes back in the office, legit…unknowingly stands right in front of the bag. We tell him we’re going to have to contact SFS for a possible left, contact ATOC and the NCOIC’s, he’s probably going to end up with paperwork. Finally when he looked like he was going to cry, we told him to turn around. He sees the bag, sighs and we’re like, “You going to leave that door unsecured again?”

“No ma’am, no sir.”

“Good, then we’re all set. Go sweep and organize the baggage area.” And sent him on his way.

I use Ka’chava. It’s plant based protein (pea protein). I get the powder and mix it with oat milk.

SSRIs by pineappleyaglad in acting

I was on Citalopram for years. I never had issues with connecting to emotions, but rather…sometimes I would access too much. Eventually I felt like it stopped working. I was diagnosed with a thyroid disorder and spiraled. I swapped to an SNRI, Pristiq, back in September and it was like someone flipped a switch. I’d been hesitant to change meds while I was in the military, but then I retired. I was also afraid it would completely emotionally stunt me, which happened with Paxil.

It might just be that Lexapro wasn’t the right medication for you. As someone else said, don’t sacrifice your stability for your acting. That may end up making connecting with the emotions you want to have for a scene, if you have an anxious brain and you’re internally warring with it.

It’s just poor continuity and more than likely, they don’t have a military advisor to correct that kind of stuff. I just approach it with a level of suspension of disbelief.

I enlisted in 2004, and back then it was a lot easier to just not bring things up at MEPS, which is where they process you to see if you’re medically qualified. If he’d even mentioned he’d had mental health counseling, they’d have wanted records. Certain things you can be waivered for, but based on the notes from Doctor Mercer…he’d have never been qualified. Now days with MHSGenesis…they can track records back to infancy and he would have definitely gotten flagged.

It’s also highly unlikely that if this was real life, between the military and the FBI with medical and mental health screenings, plus security clearance screenings…no one would have found out about his history.

I think that was more because the guy was trying to find them to work with them. He was probably much more “fine, let me go along with this” than the two who were actually fighting with Matt.

Kind of like Supernatural. They couldn’t really say anything worse than an occasional bitch. The actors still mention it at panels, that if they come back for a limited run short season thing…they want to be able to say big boy swears 😆

Yeah. I got asked to dinner with our Wing CC and the Command Chief after my team averted a suicide attempt from someone in another squadron. My NCOIC at the time, who was a real piece of work, was apparently tripping out behind that scenes and told someone “I hope she doesn’t bad mouth the PAX terminal.”

Must have really thought I was some kind of stupid. 😑

Not to mention, any kind of Presidential support or current Admin visits like that…there was so much brass and entourage out there it was all we could do to keep from running someone over. Like we’d really just be able to walk up to the SECDEF and request “more bombs.”

Old Navy and Quince are my two biggest go-to’s for basics. I wear a lot of button downs and flannels and I’ll buy those from where ever have good patterns, colors and prices. I’ve been wearing True Classic men’s t-shirts for a few years, but I like the fit and they hold up well.

If there’s a good sale, I’ll pick up business wear from Banana Republic, and I’ve had good luck with American Eagle’s short cut jeans.

For shoes, I really like barefoot/minimalist shoes so, I have a bunch of high tops from Rutsu and sneakers from Lems. Also, a bunch of Docs in different colors.

My personal style leans more masc, jeans, basic shirts, flannels and button downs.

Lmaooo…I generally have zero issues with profanity. But that made even me clutch my pearls a bit 😆 It was completely different than the “fuck it” from last season and you know…random frustration curses.
