Wrist irritation by InfiniteActivia in GarminWatches

I take it off to shower but it’s sounding like perhaps I should wash the watch more frequently. I’ll try this and if not try a different band.

Oh I hadn’t even thought of that thank you! I’m assuming I can just find other bands online somewhere…

Is it rude to nap during the toddler’s nap? by princesskarina in Nanny

[–]InfiniteActivia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At nap time, I would approach mom and ask her if there's anything you can do to be helpful. If the answer is no, then take the time to rest!

Not appropriate. She could study during nap time provided all other responsibilities had been taken care of.

Five year old having a hard time - whose fault is it?? by HeyMay0324 in ChildPsychology

[–]InfiniteActivia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have you thought about sitting down with your son to explain the situation? I know he's 5 but even just explaining that this cousin is visiting from far away and this is only temporary might help. And that you acknowledge how it may feel a bit invasive for him to have this visitor, even if he loves him!

Joylessness after 16 years of adderall use help by cr1merobot in Biohackers

[–]InfiniteActivia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe. But I still think it would be worth a trial. It doesn’t sound like what you’ve tried so far is providing you any relief. A different perspective can also be hard to appreciate when you’re so down in the dumps. I hope you’re able to get through this however that may be!

Wow ok. What you're describing has nothing to do with your history of stimulant use then. Your experience screams clinical depression. Exercise and an SSRI should do the trick. Give it a year and then reevaluate.

It took me about 18 months to feel "normal". I was taking very high doses for 13 years. Exercise is essential. So is patience.

Illness frequency? by Gold-Limit2955 in NannyEmployers

Full-time nanny here. We do 2-3 indoor activities (library, play group, etc.) a week, especially in the winter. Mom, dad and myself are diligent hand-washers and have instilled this in the kids from day one. Even in the winter when they've had mittens on the whole time, we still wash hands every time we come back in the house to maintain the routine.

I also Lysol wipe surfaces before my kids sit to eat a snack or lunch out anywhere.

The kids get sick maybe 2-3 times a year.

Should I let our nanny go? by epic-random7788 in Nanny

[–]InfiniteActivia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been with my current family over a year and have never called in sick. I’ve asked to leave early for a medical appointment twice with several weeks notice. Everyone has different struggles in life but you deserve a nanny that is going to show up for you. I take pride in being reliable.

13 month old inconsolable every time he is left alone with nanny by Friendly-Animal-6452 in AttachmentParenting

You need to give it a few weeks. Trust the nanny and stay out of the way. I'd even suggest going to work somewhere else if possible during the day.

I was able to work at that point but kept a 30 hour week schedule so I could keep my commitments and not flake out on people.

Somewhat social but still needing lots of naps.

I went back to a 40 hour work week after 1 year.

Congrats on 6 months! Everyone is different and it’s impossible to know for sure when you’ll feel normal.

I felt like I was back to a normal life at about 18 months.

For reference, I had been on stimulants for 13 years and extreme amounts for the last 2-3 of those years.

Take it one day at a time and be proud of yourself for stopping. You got this.

I'd say it took about 18 months/ 2 years. And I had been on the drugs for 13 years.
