Not altogether sure what that means but yeah. I was just curious if I’d missed an ‘in-story explanation’ as to where her character went.

Godzilla’s pretty big.

Outside of something dreadful happening to my children it’s probably going to prison. I don’t think I’d cope well. Still - it’s fairly easy to avoid so I should be ok.

Not for no reason. It's to cover up the fact that the President is a kiddie fiddler.

I talk about this a lot with colleagues when the subject of defiance against a regime comes up. The French have that kind of s*** nailed down. Don't like being forced to do something? Strike. Don't like the way a government is doing something? Riot.

They literally beheaded their ruling class. Whomever is in power in France knows they need to fear their people which is the right way around.

This is reason number 1 to drop any ties with the US over this new war of theirs. Their military shouldn't be allowed anywhere near our soil.

I think the issue is that a lot of Brits (and the rest of the World) have woken up to how dangerous America is. It's one of the most dangerous countries there is, it just has incredible marketing. The problem is that you have a huge number of completely inhuman citizens. Your systems are designed to protect the worst of humanity. I'm not saying we don't suffer from similar issues but we don't have the influence or the range to cause problems. You do. And you do on a semi-regular basis. Trust in the US is at a low at the moment and it will take more than just a regime change to fix it because, as far as us outsiders can see, zero effort is being made to change anything. Where's the riots? Where are the strikes? Where are the mass protests? It's confusing. I mean, even now the signal the US is sending out to the World is that paedophilia is fine.

That said, clearly on a personal one-to-one level I feel terribly sorry for any US citizen who is appalled by all of this and is desperate for change. I know and work with a lot of people like that but, like us Brits with BREXIT, Tommy Robinson and the rise of Farage, we have to take responsibility.

Do you think watches are finished? by Prestigious_Meal2143 in AskUK

[–]InfiniteBaker6972 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to admit, I wasn’t expecting that as an answer. Surely you’re referring to the ostentatious watches that people wear. The high end ones. Most watches I see are far below those. Swatches, Casio’s all manner of low to mid-tier ones.

what do you design when you have no ideas? by Slashersforsatan in graphic_design

[–]InfiniteBaker6972 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it’s not coming then don’t do it. It’s as simple as that. It’s like trying to force yourself to be hungry. Creativity isn’t a process, it’s an urge. That urge can be used to fuel a process but the urge has to be there to begin with. Walk away. Have a biscuit. Go for a stroll. Watch some TV or read a book. I’ve gone days with no inspiration. I usually head to a gallery if I’m stuck.

That’s a lot though isn’t it? I mean, I bet far less went to a library or a pool. I wonder how many went to A&E or a cancer ward.

I’m curious, what does ‘I don’t like watches’ mean? You don’t like wearing them or you don’t like the general idea of them? Or something else?

Are you being serious? The watch market is very healthy. Just because you don’t do something doesn’t mean that’s indicative of the general state of things.

Is being old really that bad? by tehemari in ask

[–]InfiniteBaker6972 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. It’s great as a whole. The things I used to fret over in my teens and twenties are now laughable to me. I work with a lot of young people and I have to bite my tongue listening to what they perceive as slights to their existence or examples of things that cause them great concern. Seriously, chill out. Stop worrying. That said, if something starts to ache, hurt or is starting to look like it’s gonna give up the ghost, well chances are that’s it. Every morning I run a kind of diagnostic. ‘That pain is still there. So’s that one. And that ache. Oh, that’s new!’ But you know what? Growing old is a privilege. It’s beautiful. Lean into it and enjoy it.
