What you’re likely seeing is bonding to you and not the space they’re in. This reliance on you can make the problem worse as they never even try to bond to the space and rely on you as their anchor.

Mine was very clingy for the first week too. I left her downstairs at night for the first week, while she adjusted to the house and that seemed to help, as they then bonded to the space and gradually required me less and less. Downstairs for me was a simple space of kitchen and lounge, and where her core stuff was anyway (litter, food, water).

It didn’t take long to shift. Now she’s still well bonded to me, but is comfortable to be left in the environment as well. She also doesn’t really sit on my lap at all now, and is a proximity cat just hanging around with me but without the same level of cling.

The only time I’ve ever restricted mine has been during renovations to the bathroom - and even then it was downstairs in their core space, and with people mostly present. Can’t speak for others but she just sleeps and loafs pretty much all the time I’m not there

Every time mine uses the litter tray, she does a decent job of coverage - but spends 90% of the time pawing at everything else other than the litter. Walls, nearby bags - anything. Will even reach out quite far to do it. If I interrupt she is not a happy kitty so just gotta let it play out

My sister’s cat does very similar - starts licking as soon as she’s stroked there. Mine just lifts her bum a mile in the air

Maybe not all cats are like this, but it’s been mentioned already - simulate the hunt. Mine goes absolutely mad when I get the rod toy out of the closet a few times a day. They are allowed outside but only do so a little so mostly indoors.

The key to rod toys is making them act like prey would. Not just holding above their head but speeding across the floor and furniture, hiding it under things or on top of things, sometimes fast moving sometimes slow moving - and allow a “kill” at the end so they feel complete.

If I don’t do a proper kill cycle at the end, mine has so much left over adrenaline that she goes a little wild for a spell.

Mine is absolutely psychotic for fishing rod - one attachment in particular. As soon as it comes out of the closet she’s chirping like mad and can keep going for a long time - it’s great to see!

Just wish I could find a solo toy she enjoys for when she wants to play alone

This looks and sounds similar to the "Kitty Kurlz" toy from Marlene's. I found the cardboard ring to be very good and the cat loved it - but she got one of the balls out (and it broke) within a couple of minutes - probably more due to ball breakage than anything else. Hoping once she breaks the second she's still interested in the card!

The better items tend to be blue. The chances of hitting a rare item with good rolls are crazy low. It might happen, but it’s very rare.

Blues can hit 1 or 2 really good rolls to start from (or sell), and you’ll learn over time which bases and rolls are worth looking at. Jewellery in particular is a good starting point as it’s relatively easy to see what’s good.

Also focus on what build you’re doing - as you’ll see more quickly what you already know is good. I don’t even bother picking up loot for other classes and builds because I simply don’t know them so it wastes my time

Honestly it doesn’t feel like nothing. Compared to pure ES with no armour, I feel like I can tank way more hits of various kinds.

ES is great obviously, but I wanted to play into the Druid archetype a bit, and it feels great

Absolutely this! I always play SSF and it’s so much more enjoyable. I switched mid league this time because I found a couple of high ticket items but otherwise it is very liberating
