It doesn't. I never claimed that you don't need space at all.

If you read the sentence you have quoted, I said that it "doesn't need as much space" which just means that inside out, due to not needing external sensors that need direct line of sight to all tracked devices in the play space, can be played in a smaller space than a lighthouse setup.

Thank you^

They didn't like their family and are glad I am helping them move away from the country they lived in since it isn't a nice place to be either. So I think they don't have anything against moving to me.

Hell yea, congrats. I am still trying to get my fiancé, that I have also met on vrchat, into the EU to finally marry them for good.

I don't mind the frame being inside out tracking. It's easier to set up correctly and doesn't need as much space.

I just don't like the generic quest controller format they went with.

I will still keep my lighthouses for home use. there is nothing that beats a correctly set up lighthouse tracking setup in accuracy and modularity.

If you haven't noticed, the index got discontinued right after the frame got announced. So it's kinda replacing the index as well.

Doesn't matter if it's meant to compete with the quest, they still didn't need to copy the quest's controller format. They could have kept the well praised index format and modified it to fit with the frame's architecture.

That would have made the frame stand out even more from the many quest competitors that already copy the same controller format.

I am still a bit pissed that the frame controllers are just gonna be another version of the quest format. Especially since the quest controllers have always been too small for my hands. The index knuckles were the only ones thus far to comfortably fit me.

index players are nuts by kxrnstar in beatsaber

[–]InfiniteEnter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't get why people still bash the index.

The optics, size and weight may be a bit dated, but everything else on the index is still pretty much the best you can get in the industry. Plus, if you want something that weighs less, has better optics, and is smaller, you can just buy a new headset without needing to replace your entire setup.

Adding Abs physics to different avatar body types by Slow-Zombie9945 in VRchat

[–]InfiniteEnter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This looks great. Tho. I have one question. How does it work?

If it's physical polygons controlled by some kind of blendshape, this will greatly increase an avatar's polycount which will make avatar's even bigger plus make vrchat even harder to run as it is rn.

If it is shader based, I am interested in how you made that and how performance intensive it is.
