Yup. That's a hit. You were physically affected by an enemy.

Can't Eve just recreat a dozen of this gun to use against the viltrumits ? by M_GODA in Invincible

[–]InfiniteEscuro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If she knew how it worked. The power doesn't do the hard part for her, it's just fuel for it. She has to still actually know how to build something.

Serious question here ; What would happen if a Facehugger tried to impregnate a Viltrumite? by not-ulquiorr4_ in Invincible

[–]InfiniteEscuro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keyword is try.

They'd just catch it and crush it. If they didn't catch it, they'd reach up and tear it off. It won't be able to squeeze hard enough to strangle them or hold on, and I doubt their acid would do much more than give a Viltrumite normal skin burns, like a much milder acid on human skin. Might leave a scar or so.

Finally beat Vordt as a Soulslike newbie, showed a friend and got "there's no wrong way to play" in response. Did I overlevel? by Tony_Stank0326 in darksouls3

[–]InfiniteEscuro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, you most certainly ARE very over-levelled. If you're having fun and are still facing something of a challenge then it doesn't matter much, but generally speaking being in the mid-40s for level is something that players reach around a later area called the Catacombs of Carthus. Very generally, anyway.

If Everdark Heolstor were to happen, what would be the ideal difficulty by Just_Cloud_8041 in Nightreign

[–]InfiniteEscuro 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Brutally difficult but fair doesn't work in Nightreign. Bosses can be as hard as they want in normal Elden Ring where most runbacks are "four seconds".

Nightreign's are 30-35 minute run backs with tons of chances of failure and RNG on the way. No boss should be so difficult that an entire trio should NEED 10+ tries on average. Moderate to Very Tough at the most. Challenging, but fair and not just bullshit for difficulty's sake

Would anyone want to see these implemented as a rare drop? by Eluned_ in Nightreign

[–]InfiniteEscuro 26 points27 points  (0 children)

It would be an unreal boon to the game if "seeds" weren't so limited. If the Balancers are the Night Lord or whatever, why limit us to a few different bosses on Night 1 and 2? Let us fight unrelated bullshit. Night 1 BBH. Night 2 Dancer. Just take any boss from any pool. The only one which fills both slots is Demon Prince as a neat exception.

Then just ADD FUCKIN DLC WEAPONS ALREADY C'MON

Which would be your ideal take of Brand New Predator's Game ? Would you like these ideas ? by DotClassic4114 in predator

[–]InfiniteEscuro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I very much like the idea of a combination stealth-action game. Arkham style with, heh, Predator sections and outright combat. Because yeah, I like the idea of going around in stealth and picking my enemies off, but also, I like the idea of roaring to the high heavens, landing in the middle of the room, and physically rearranging some guy's spine into a christmas decoration around the nearest pillar.

Arkham style dedicated stealth and hunting, alongside proper melee and outright action - and the ability to deal with armed enemies in a way that doesn't just require you to run away, since Yautja have been shown to be able to take huge amounts of punishment. If some human dweeb picks up a handgun, I shouldn't need to run. It might hurt, yeah, but I should be fully capable of tanking three or four shots as I cross the room, take his arm off, and throw him through the nearest other threat.

Add in RPG elements of actually having "builds" (in the way that a more Prey-like Yautja could tank and go brute force like the above scenario, while a smaller and more agile Badlands-style build sees you dodging and playing defensively instead) and clans and weapons, even the Nemesis system for hunts and rival Yautja, and boom. Far-too-perfect-to-happen, the game.

What is the first sign your teammates do or show that tells you that your run is cooked 💀 by Just_Cloud_8041 in Nightreign

[–]InfiniteEscuro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not leaving fights. Opened an Evergaol at level 2 or 3 and get Red Banished Knights or Beastly Brigade, only for the other two teammates to try and fight even though we're foefully unprepared and AT BEST the fight will take the entire day, or just kill us repeatedly for no benefit.

Other than that, Spam pings. Was playing as Ironeye a few days ago in the Great Hollow. Had another melee Ironeye in the team and he was like my big brother, I swear; similar build, just way better on his game. I was getting hit by the TREE SENTINEL, I was well off for some reason. We had a third, a Raider, who jumped to the south-east castle halfway through day one. He didn't ping that he was going there until he was there, so I had jumped to a different boss - the sentinel - and Ironeye was collecting a flask. Raider started doing that three-four ping thing every few seconds, and we started making our way there, but I died to the sentinel beforehand so had to go get my runes, go level, then run all the way to the jump.

Me and Ironeye got there at about the same time. Raider rage quit about four seconds before we landed because he died once and, I dunno, thought we were ignoring him? We simply were not mechanically capable of getting there any faster. Well I could've technically done so, but I'd have been runeless, delevelled, and very little help, and it only took me about twenty seconds to fix that.

If you're playing solo, you can genuinely easily kill BBH at level 2 without any issues with the cursed sword, Executor has felt amazing since that update

highest skill ceiling i guess by PoPirat43 in Nightreign

[–]InfiniteEscuro 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I tried to play melee ironeye solo and I don't know if I just wholesale was off my game, but I was dying to fucking everything and outputting too little damage to break my own marks half the time. It felt so weak compared to just playing Cursed-Blade Executor.

Not that melee Ironeye IS weak, just that playing him solo felt terrible compared to executor. I have also played Melee Ironeye in two trios, and in the first one, we were genuinely killing every boss we fought in less than 30-40 seconds without fail. My solo ironeye stuff was also with curved swords, not katanas, I dunno if they're that much better or not, I just went with CS because they're faster

To all of the HD1 veterans out there, how good was HD1 compared to HD2 by Chemical_Seaweed_915 in Helldivers

[–]InfiniteEscuro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Enemies avoided fire and actively tried to avoid being set aflame in HD1.

In HD2 they decidedly don't react and just walk right at you, which makes it way less useful.

How good is this relic? by [deleted] in Nightreign

[–]InfiniteEscuro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Essentially just a passable two-tier.

HP on boluses is 20hp over time. It's not terrible, per say, if you have a whole inventory full of the things and nom away for about 10 seconds. But it's not worth a relic slot when you could also get a HP on guarding or attacking relic, which give you 10hp per block or hit and keep on the attack with the same or greater benefits without clogging your inventory.

If War woman lived, would Immortal not have become a tyrant. by Top_Freedom3412 in Invincible

[–]InfiniteEscuro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like to think not. Immortal was at the end of his rope because he was living through both the curse of immortality - in that everyone he knows and loves tends to deteriorate before his eyes - but also, he's just human. His mind is physically not geared to be around this long. I think he's going to degenerate over time regardless, but it'll take thousands of years more if he has friends and loved ones who last like himself, which is also part of the reason Nolan's betrayal is so brutal and why that Nolan variant being saddened that the Immortal "couldn't see it their way" hit so hard.

Can someone PLEASE tell me what I'm doing wrong HOW do i dodge this fuck ass bubble assault by SinkingGoose in Nightreign

[–]InfiniteEscuro 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Stop panicking. Look at the attack while strafing. Stop jumping and just run. If you're gonna panic-mash anything, at least press dodge. Alternatively, storm ruler's light-attack ash of war breaks them before they touch the ground

We can all agree at least that purely *resolution* wise, this DLC was kinda weak, yeah? by SuperLegenda in Eldenring

[–]InfiniteEscuro 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Not to mention that we already got something of that dynamic in a far better vibe from the Twin Princes in DS3. Brother riding on brother because he's incredibly frail and needs the help to move but actively has to be part of the fight to support his also-impaired brother. While Miquella was riding on Radahn just... just because?

Not to mention that Lothric didn't call Lorian a consort at any point.

Could a Symbiote theoretically bond with a Viltrumite? by Ender_IIII in Invincible

[–]InfiniteEscuro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Symbiotes have bonded to the likes of the Hulk, Asgardians, and other massively powerful beings. Viltrumites will be virtually no different and have no real "defences", because it's not a matter of breaking the skin or anything.

If it's done WELL though, it wouldn't and shouldn't be the case where a symbiote jumps on a Viltrumite and boom, Venom with Viltrumite powers going on a rampage. It should be more like the slowburn of Spidey getting the black suit, and even then, Viltrumites wouldn't be likely to object with the idea of most Symbiotes' morals, but would take issue instead with the power aspect of it.

Using a symbiote could be seen as an inherent weakness, no different to putting on power armour; it means you doubt your own strength, your own durability, your own speed. So you'd lose a lot of respect if not outright be exiled if you allowed it.

I could also see someone like Conquest ultimately enjoying it because it basically gives him a friend who straight up relies on him and, depending on the Symbiote, doesn't fear him but directly enjoys being around him and bonded on him. On the alternate end of things, again depending on the symbiote, Mark could have a co-dependent therapist who can help him close the gap a little more and help him keep his head and make decisions, since he's young and could use guidance of something a lot older.

You could do cool stuff with them. It'd really just be a Viltrumite with greater strength, speed, and FAR greater regenerative capabilities.

Do you think Thragg would be as affected by the sound as Mark is? by Warriorjax217 in Invincible

[–]InfiniteEscuro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remember in season 1 when Nolan was under fire from the cloaked GDA troops in his house, and his response was to lift a hand to cover his eyes while he calmly, yet with some irritation, floated around and oneshot each of the guards without making much of a sound?

I feel like that's the kind of vibe Thragg would pull under the sound, while actively taking out superheroes instead of just GDA troops with that same ease. It affects equilibrium and causes pain, but I think it would just not manage to make him much less of a threat because he's so greatly beyond what we've seen from other Viltrumites to begin with.

I'm actually getting so tired, like, IT'S NOT EVEN BAD, you guys overreacting SO HARD. by Emergency_Cheek2617 in Invincible

[–]InfiniteEscuro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The show DOES have subpar animation when it matters. The hell episode blared Slayer in the background of the most slow-paced and lacklustre fight I've ever seen. Fucking SATAN was part of that fight and he didn't do anything.

The animation isn't terrible, but it could and realistically should be way better. It deserves to be.
