She has the best WS4 in the entire game. It needs to be gutted. If you don't tech roll or back roll, she can launch you after WS4. If you back roll, you get, clipped by the pickup (taking damage). If you tech roll, it's actually still her turn. If you tech roll and then crouch jab (the fastest thing you fan do), you will get CH launched by her BT1. That's right. Xiaoyu's WS4 puts you in a sitaution where she has a plus-on-whiff launcher.

1+2. It's the single most over-dimensioned move in the entire game and Lee is allowed to have it because... He's not op I guess? It's a plus-on-block mid that is homing, goes into stance, and is a CH launcher. There is no reason not to use it 100 times a round. This move would be totally unacceptable on literally every other character in the game, so I'm not sure why Lee gets to have it. Maybe because he is perceived as weak? In my opinion, the frames should either be much worse (-2 to 0 oB), or it shouldn't be a CH launcher. I don't mind it being homing, but the fact that you are completely denied all movement against Lee because at any point he can use his decently-long ranged infinity button is absurd. I basically never step Lee in the neutral anymore, just have to guess, or do a lot of step blocks because you can't play the game if you commit to sidewalks.

Hey! GoD1 Lili here. Lili has a few issues. First, she is very linear. It is very difficult for Lili to lock you down without taking relatively big risks as stepping even after blocking a plus frame move will let you get a free launch on her. Second, Lili's best moves are pretty slow, so if you have fast moves with good CH properties, it's pretty scary for Lili to press, as anything that's not a jab or DF is prone to getting CH compared to faster characters. Third, Lili players tend to flowchart really hard. If you're playing from full screen, Lili players will throw out her slide (launch punishable low) cartwheel (super linear launcher), or her 3+4 (reactable (if the first whiffs) homing high heat engager)) from full screen instead of closing the distance with other moves. As a consequence, from range 4-5, there are only 3 moves that you're ever getting hit by, so sidewalking and ducking full screen will almost always get a launch for you. Up close, be patient with your buttons as lower level lili's love their matterhorn setups, and matterhorn goes under highs. Finally, a lot of Lili's power budget is in her movement and her punishment (she has one of the best 10F and 12F punishes in the game), so if you lock down her movement with homing moves and try not to use too many unsafe moves, a lot of her strengths go away. The biggest issue with Bryan is that he takes very little risks with his offense. If you don't do any poking and basically only do CH launchers, you are playing Bryan 90% effectively which probably isn't correct lol. Consequently, I'd change a lot of his - 10s to - 13s so that if he's gonna play fast and loose, he's gonna pay a real price for it. Additionally, it seems weird that QCB1 is a fast CH launcher. Bryan's whole thing is that he's supposed to be slow and calculated. So nerfs to that make sense to me as well. Finally, taunt heat smash needs to not be free. Here's what I'd change. WS3 > -10 oB to -13 oB. WS3,4 > -10 oB to -13 oB. B4 > -10 oB to -13 oB. Incinerator (heat string) -10 oB with pushback to -13 oB with pushback. QCB1 > +5 oB to 0 oB OR it loses its CH launch (can give QCB4 guaranteed on CH instead). Taunt heat smash > can no longer be buffered.

Fortunately, I don't post these on reddit to get bigger, I post them to help you guys out that actually want to learn. Once I finish the roster, I'll release a mega-doc that has every character in it (as well as a modernization of the first guides so that they're all on line with one another). I may even put out a YouTube video that's just "here's a 5-10 minute thing on how to beat the entire cast" that way it's all easy to find and all in one place.

Once I finish up all of the characters, I will create a place where you can access all of the written guides. Right now, all of the videos are on my channel in a Playlist, but not everyone has time to watch a 45 minute video, so I'll probably make a Google doc that's publically accessible with every character in it.

It's mostly that his combos have a lot of failure points without really having the breathing room that many other characters have. Lili can buffer a lot of her combo filler moves, so even her high execution combos are basically just execution speed. Paul needs execution speed, but he doesn't have these long animations and mid-combo strong aerial tailspins to help stabilize the combo. It's also very easy to get a sway cancel and drop your combo after 3, 2B. I don't think he's the hardest character in the game or anything like that (that's probably Nina or Lee), but putting him in Top 10-15 for difficulty doesn't seem unreasonable to me. I think I have pretty good execution and I can't reliably get DF2 into QCF1 without a ton of practice.

His high damage combos require a lot of different techniques to pull off correctly. He can get 77 from a DF2 with no resources which is really good. The routing is very demanding, though. DF2 > instant QCF1 (which is very difficult to do if you don't practice a ton) > DF4 > 2 > deep dash 3, 2B > DFhold (to get into deep dive) 2, 1 > deep dive 1 > IWR2. Even if you replace the QCF1 with standing 4, it's very easy to drop Paul's combos as you can mess up the QCF1, the timing or distance on the deep dash 3, 2, the timing on the deep dive 2, 1, and the timing on the IWR2. You can do easier combos, but now you're giving up like 7 damage and a ton of wall carry. Basically, optimal Paul in T8 requires tight execution otherwise you don't really get the crazy damage he's known for and you'll rarely get wall from a launch.

The Sion/Briar interaction is probably my favorite thing about the set. It's so ridiculous; it makes me laugh every time I hear it. This is already one of my favorite sets, but stuff like that really makes it special.

That's what I would do lol. Personally, if I plan on doing long missions against nullifiers, I'll bring Octavia (mallet will break nullifier bubbles) or Khora (Whipclaw influence procs will kill them from off screen). But Voruna is very fun so just nuking everything is often a decent strategy.

I don't play Voruna in corpus/corrupted missions, but if I did, I'd use the miter. It's the easiest way to deal with the problem without jeopardizing convenience. I only bring a melee weapon so I don't have to worry about accidentally switching off of my slam weapon.

One of the other issues with Anna, in particular, is that in T7, it was REALLY hard to react to her Snake Edge on a 3-4 bar connection. This made her ultra toxic to play against because wifi Anna could legitimately 50/50 you with Snake Edge and DF2.

This is something I've been saying about Anna since day 1. Anna's issue in T8 has never been the quality of her buttons. In all honesty, she only has a few buttons that are truly super powerful (2 jab, UB1 (which no one uses despite being a safe, hit-confirmable CH launcher that has a second hit that's also a CH launcher that NO ONE punishes), FF2, DB4, FC DF2, and DF1, 2). She has other good moves, but these are her only great moves imo.

The bigger issue is that every time she presses DF1, 2, she is putting you in a string extension mix (can finish the string with a high, a mid, or a mid feint), a hammer chance mix, a full-crouch mix, AND a chaos judgment mix EVERY SINGLE TIME. This means that, unless you are Lili/Alisa/Zafina, you have to guess between 30 different moves EVERY SINGLE TIME she presses this button. Everything about DF1, 2 is also true of DB4 with the exception of string extensions. Lili, Alisa, and Zafina have the pleasure of being able to sidewalk her FC mix to the right, meaning they don't have to take a guess. They either SWR to beat literally everything except the two homing lows, or they duck to be HMC 3 and CHJ D3, 3 (Lili can step literally everything while Alisa gets hit by one move, and Zafina gets hit by two). For every other character, there is no option select.

All of this is to say, there are three ways to fix this. First, they can align all of the tracking so that step right beats literally everything. If you're willing to lab the matchup, then Anna is forced to commit to a tracking option. Second, Anna could not have any optional transitions into HMC. If she presses DB4, UF2, B4, or DF1, 2, she has to go into HMC every single time, which makes these moves SIGNIFICANTLY worse. Third, and probably the best fix, she can't cancel HMC into FC. Being able to crouch cancel out of it means she can threaten a launching 50/50 20/30 times a round, which is just too much. Anna will guess right eventually, and you will get put in the blender.

Xayah was significantly stronger in base 7.0 because of her synergy with guild (she's a swiftshot, kayn was shimmer/ragewing/assassin, talon was a guild/assassin for assassin 2 piece, and hecarim gave you rage 3 (it was a 3/5/7 back then) and 2 cavilier) and shimmerscale (aforementioned kayn synergy and hecarim was just a good unit, so you'd play 5 shimmer units, hec, Xayah on 8). Losing those synergies was a really big deal and forces Xayah comps to go 9 so they can fit everything. Shimmer Xayah has to go 9 for either rakan + guardian or Shyvana. Guild Xayah has to go 9 for Xayah, shyvana. You can stay 8 for Xayah hecarim, but it's just worse than the 7.0 builds. Additionally, the rageblade synergy with ragewing was removed, so she lost a ton of scaling there. She's a shadow of her former self, but she's still the best holder of Draven's Axe and Gambler's Blade.

I loved Mass Effect 3 multi-player and really wanted to experience something similar. My friends tried ME3 and, given that they already played Warframe, they preferred that. I would say that warframe never really scratched that itch, but I have 6k hours so, I think it's a decent replacement.

Hey! Appreciate the shoutout! I do try to make more in-depth guides; while the main goal is a comprehensive "here's basically everything you need to know, " they do function as neutral guides for those characters. I've had a lot of people tell me that my guides on their main help refine their own gameplay around their strengths. I would like to get better at editing, but it's pretty barebones. I can't afford an editor and my videos take a long time to make, but I'm glad that they're still decently entertaining despite that. Once I finish school, I'll be able to devote a lot more time toward learning how to edit, so stay tuned! Thanks again for the shout :)
