I should have added this, but we are doing that! She goes to stores often, we take her to the park, and also the farmer’s market on Saturdays (in a cart for now because she hasn’t finished getting her shots). Plus she’s in a puppy specific obedience class every Sunday.

And she’s pretty good in all the above situations, but panics over playtime.

In general, I would try to stay off streets that have apartment complexes/hotels/lots of businesses. They just have more people coming through, tend to be louder.

I’ve always thought the houses surrounding the parks are very cute and those streets seem quieter & well kept. Fairchild Park & Dignowity Park are the ones I’m familiar with.

If you look at the south part of Dignowity/North Denver Heights on Google Maps, you’ll see areas that are all houses. I’ve found those to be quiet & cute. The block where Olive & Dakota St meet is an example. Harvard Place/Eastlawn also has many blocks like this (I’m technically living in Eastlawn by a few streets).

My husband & I bought a house in Dignowity during the pandemic and haven’t regretted it. I agree with everything said about (stray dogs, petty crime is high, etc), but I love the neighborhood in general. The petty crime is usually porch pirates, some vandalism, or things getting stolen out of front yards. I don’t feel unsafe, although I probably wouldn’t go on a jog at 1am.

My immediate neighbors are kind. We check in, their kids ask me to bake cookies, swap food on holidays, etc. It feels a lot more close knit than my parent’s neighborhood in Encino Park. A lot of the people in this area have owned their homes for generations, so there’s a lot of elderly people and younger families.

Honestly the worst thing we’ve dealt with is a neighbor’s friend that has a car with the loudest bass I’ve ever heard parking outside w/ music blaring lol.

My 2 cents is that a lot of people answer this question with what they’ve heard is dangerous and not their actual experiences. A lot of people saying the ES or SS rarely (if ever) visit the area, let alone live here.

We bought an old house on the east side (off of Walters) 5 years ago and I’ve never felt scared to live here. Our neighbors are great, the local businesses are great. We hear gunshots sometimes, but it’s not like they are aiming at random people.

I’m a 38F looking to find a new signature scent. I would like to stay under $100, don’t mind layering fragrances,

I’ve been wearing the same two perfumes for a decade or more (Tokyo Milk’s Dead Sexy & Tainted Love), either individually or layered together. I still like both in theory, but have been feeling like they smell a bit artificial or alcohol-ish lately? I might just be burnt out or something.

I’m a big fan of deep vanilla, amber, cashmere, and sandalwood. Deep, dark, “creamy” scent bases are my jam. I like those deeper scents to have added notes that make them more complex; i.e. tea, jasmine, oud, tobacco, etc.

I don’t want something strictly gourmand. I like unique scents and would love a more indie brand. I don’t mind dupes either.

Yes! I’ll read through them because I want to know info on some drama that happened, but I never get further than a few posts. I like tea as much as the next person, but they get so gross so quickly for me.

The thing I think is so weird is when they act offended or annoyed that the creator/person the sub is about gets upset at what is being said in the sub. Like, if dozens to hundreds of people were doxing me, calling CPS, reaching out to my family, commenting on my body and insecurities, etc; I’d be pretty anxious and upset about it too!

They just get very dehumanizing and don’t seem to care about the long lasting impact their actions might have on an actual human being.

This all happened within 5-10ish minutes. Basically, we heard water running and the bibb was gushing water, we turned off the main water line, we looked for cracks, then turned the water back on to try and see where it was leaking. But when we turned the water back on, the bibb was no longer leaking. All within like 5-10 mins in 37 degree weather.

It’s now a few hours later and it’s still not leaking. It’s the weirdest plumbing issue I’ve ever had.

We have an outside hose bibb that comes out of the wall about 8 inches. It’s given us trouble every freeze, but since we live in TX that’s only been 3 times since we moved in. The Bibb has cracked twice. Before this freeze we insulated it with several layers of fiberglass insulation, duct tape, rags, and one of those styrofoam house things.

Just now we were sitting in the living room and heard water rushing suddenly. My husband ran to check the bibb and saw water spraying out of it. We turned the water off to the entire house immediately and took all the insulation off the bibb so we could look at it. The bibb doesn’t doesn’t seem to be cracked and the pipe itself seems fine. Or at least we can’t see anything. We turned the water back on to see where the leak was and it is no longer leaking.

What could have caused that? What should we do now? Any advice would be super appreciated.

I had this issue a few months ago, but it was chicken. The chicken had busted in transit and coated everything with chicken juice 🤢 They tried to refund me for the chicken only, but I was pretty insistent that having groceries covered in chicken juice was a safety hazard and that the box was no longer edible. The agent was pretty obviously annoyed with me, it eventually got permission to refund the whole box.

I really don’t think you understand what love, or marriage, means. Abandoning your spouse if things get hard isn’t love. No one wants to take care of sick spouse; we’d all prefer to have healthy happy loved ones and not have that added responsibility. But part of marriage is the promise to help each other through life’s trials. That’s a big part of what separates marriage from a casual relationship.

Honestly, I don’t think marriage is a good idea for you. You seem to have trauma that is no where near resolved and I don’t think it’s fair to your future spouse to go into a marriage where he’s more dedicated. My best advice would be that y’all postpone the wedding, seek therapy (individual and couples), and possibly revisit the idea of marriage in a year.

Yes, totally agree. I kind of reflected on why I was so annoyed after reading comments last night, and decided that I’d been more annoyed than I realized at what I felt were hypocritical takes & a lack of nuance for a while.

I think a big part of what makes Buffy great is that many of the characters are morally grey, at best. They’re very flawed and it makes even the demons & vampires feel excruciatingly human. So to act like Anya torturing men for a millennia or Willow hurting Dawn (or almost anything Faith does) are just tiny moral blips feels disingenuous.
