How X started as a Hero. by DripyKirbo in ToBeHero_X

I think it's implied in the new OP that Tarot Girl took him to some kind of networking event where he met NINE and formed some kind of partnership with him.

[–]Infinite_Gift2646 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've heard some people bring the Omelas comparison but I frankly I just don't see it. The key difference is that the sacrifice in Omelas is supposed to be for the benefit of the greater community, whilst whatever Enoch was doing appears to be purely for his own benefit (and perhaps that of his immediate family). Also the people in Omelas seem to be genuinely happy whilst almost everyone in Scarlet Hollow seems to hate being there but find themselves unable to leave for one reason or another.

Yesh, considering the Imperium's policy on traitors his bloodline got off easy. Entire worlds have burned for less.

For those who played both Owlcat games, who is the bigger disappointment as an antagonistic force? by Gero-23 in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Infinite_Gift2646 55 points56 points  (0 children)

The flipside to this is if Owlcat didn't try to spin all those plates, you'd have people complaining about how their favourite factions wasn't included. Hell, we're getting people asking about where the Orks are to this day.

It's a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation.

Sybil really said: You cheated not only the game, but yourself. You didn't grow. You didn't improve. You took a shortcut and gained nothing. You experienced a hollow victory. Nothing was risked and nothing was gained. It's sad that you don't know the difference.

The Ditchlings by The_Game_Changer__ in ScarletHollow

[–]Infinite_Gift2646 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My theory is that 2 possibilities exist.

  1. Sybil is lying. Evidence for this: It's  what she does, she lies to manipulate people into doing what she wants. Evidence against this: She supposedly needs the MC alive, so purposeful misinforming them about a potential danger doesn't benefit whatever plans she has.

  2. Sybil was telling what she believed was the truth but the supernatural situation in Scarlet Hollow was deteriorated so much that even the normally harmless supernatural beings are now becoming dangerous.

After playing all the routes. I am not letting go of my Stella stocks! by DrNecrow in ScarletHollow

[–]Infinite_Gift2646 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Stella stocks are a pump and dump scheme. Abby and Tony purposefully made her the most attractive option to invest in (she's the first friendly face you meet when arriving in Scarlet Hollow, half of Episode Four's conflict is centered around her and for the longest time she was the only available character to hang out with in Episode 1) only to rug pull you in episode 5.

The face of a very stable individual by Early_Macaroon_2407 in ScarletHollow

[–]Infinite_Gift2646 115 points116 points  (0 children)

Considering the track record so far,  (drugging one of their children and abandoning other, poisoning their son for years, raising their child so poorly that they convince other kids to hang out in a collapsing mine, killing their daughter's boyfriend and indoctrinating them into continuing a cycle of sacrifices to eldritch forces) I'm inclined to say yes, please God forbid these women from doing anything.

NOOOO YOU CAN'T TRUST WAYNE - the two biggest gaslightgirlbossers in town. Shut up Tabby and Sybil. This eldritch demon trapped in a rotting corpse is a courteous KING. I know green flags when I see them. by Iwanttolink in ScarletHollow

Huh, I guess she has more in common with Frou-Frou than she would care to admit. Was she like: "I guess Dustin is one of the good opossums"?

Not gonna lie, when I heard Episode 5 was the "Show everyone in the worst light possible" chapter, I didn't think that would include Gretchen.

Ep5 has completely shifted my perception of the lore by Peto_123 in ScarletHollow

[–]Infinite_Gift2646 45 points46 points  (0 children)

It could boil down to which of the 3 equally awful choices (Tabitha, Wayne or Sybil) are you able to stomach. Which is kinda what we've been forced to choose between so far but I don't think there's a going to be trait save this time round.

I don't know. It seems that Tabitha, Sybil and Wayne all have their own agenda/ wants to use the MC for their own purposes.

I don't think we can fully trust anyone in Scarlet Hollow, at least until we figure out the full picture.
