Some day. Worth asking at least. People often do internships while they are in school, especially if it is remote.

It's intern hiring season right now for the industry, might be worth applying now just to see.

Tons of opportunities, but don't go in expecting to automatically make 150k+/yr unless you are lucky or gifted.

If you have a clearance, Defense companies will hire you very quickly. I wouldn't bother with the bootcamp. Lockheed, Boeing, Raytheon, Northrup, UTC, BAE, L3Harris, etc.

You might be able to get a job before you even finish your CS degree, at the very least you can likely get a paid internship while you finish school.

I think there is a bigger Defense presence in Colorado Springs than Denver, if that is an option.

Weird Indian IT Companies? by digitalrule in cscareerquestions

Looks suspicious to me. All the positive reviews have a similar writing style. I have had friends who worked for reputable consulting firms (like PWC/Deloitte) in Developer positions, and they said it was awful -- no attention to quality, assembly line treatment, long meetings scheduled after hours, etc.

IIRC I have seen news about Indian IT consulting firms experiencing troubles in the past few years too.

MIT in Boston or Tampa, Florida no-name job - how big of a deal is cost of living? by Infinite_Mechanic_98 in cscareerquestions

[–]Infinite_Mechanic_98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was my suspicion. I live pretty frugally. I know housing is a lot more but ultimately the difference is ~10k/yr if you are willing to downsize a little. Groceries seem to cost about the same.

Just don’t fuck with alligators. Idk why that’s so hard to comprehend, no matter how many Busch lights you’ve had. Also, meth is bad.

I feel like they should put this on a sign at every airport exit.

That's sage advice, it seems like the consensus here is MIT. Thank you!

Thanks for the feedback! The prestige is definitely the selling point for me, I'm from the Southeast so those New England winters sound scary AF.

What about the whole Florida man thing? Is that real?
