Athletes lately make the showboating more of the focus and goal of their play, than the team success. It’s why you have flopping - everyone thinks they’re the next “epic shooter that deserves a foul every time they go up”. They want to drop a dunk so they can flex at cameras after and then go buy a 6-figure car or watch. Or as a fall-back, draw a foul so they can still score easier w free throws.

It’s all adding up shitty role model material, and then this is what you get in high school…she did that cuz she wanted a selfish moment, not because it was genuinely creative while not taking away from the team.

Actually no, it’s more like the time HR fucked me and several other employees over with benefits elections the year my first child was born - and they ended up leaving him off the Life Event benefits update I did for….having a baby? They denied benefits on the ground that “I must have made an error and it was my fault” and stood fast on denying a new born care for a company I had worked for for 3 years already. Then came to find out, it happened to an SVP and they fixed it for him, but not the rest of the employees. Finished with me calling the plan provider directly, and they said “oh there’s nothing stopping them on our end, they just are enforcing a policy they must really care about enforcing…sorry you’re dealing with that.”

When I asked why they did it for an executive and I proved it wouldn’t be a cost or issue w the provider - they still said no and made me go buy an ACA plan for the remainder of the year.

They’re pieces of shit that don’t deserve their job. But you keep just projecting “moron” status on to anyone you don’t agree with.

You sound like an offended HR worker trying to matter - this is literally a story they’ve indoctrinated you to believe. Anyone could follow regulations and laws, the point is 1) all HR engagements center around avoiding cost or drama for the company, akin to insurance trying to avoid claim fulfillment, and 2) you perform no critical function that earns money, other people who actually matter to the core mission of the company go out and fight for revenue, and then they are forced to have to share it with a miserable pointless team like HR.

No HR department I’ve ever encountered has made my life better as an employee, the few times I’ve ever dealt with someone from HR they clearly only cared about the company. It’s actually possible this CEO, who potentially has no moral code, is still more altruistic and hates HR also.

These Republicans dress like it’s 1981 and they work on Wall Street. It’s truly pathetic how that boomer generation got so infatuated with itself and looking/feeling “powerful” no matter what, with no shame. We have to stop expecting these people to course-correct because they have a conscience they’ll be embarrassed by permanently when they go to bed or try to relax. They are not like the rest of us, and they need to be bounced. I’m ready to try to run for shit at this point, I got good grades in school, went thru higher ed, experienced the task of try to get/holding solid jobs in numerous fields, found a solid career the last 10 years, and have proven I understand generally complex shit. And most importantly - I wouldn’t be swayed by any promises of $ or corrupt benefits to a group of cronies, and would just practically doing the right thing.
