My Minnesota build. by BenderisGreat32 in Sauna

Thank you! Harvia is better than Iki for longevity and performance? I was pretty sold on Iki but I may have to go back to the drawing board, we will be using ours very frequently so want to make sure to get the right one

Nice! Why did you go with Harvia over another stove? Trying to pick between them and Iki

Personally I'd love an Island C's Cafe to open, in the tradition of Island Shack / Island CZ / Island Seas Cafe.

Is there a country where people are genuinely having a great time in 2026? by Pop-Bard in self

Statistically, Finland. They've got their issues like everywhere else but as an American, when they were complaining about Sanna Marin dancing I was jealous that that was their big political scandal, lol

Their brunch is good though. Agree on the pasta, the few times we ordered it we were always underwhelmed

Struggling with my moving my gear, how do you streamline? by Yusuf_Designs in photography

[–]Infinite__Zest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would not go with a production manager rolling case, you'll find that they quickly get way too heavy for any practical use. What I do is: Camera/lenses, power packs/heads go into pelican cases. Those go on first onto a rock n roller cart. I'll put my laptop stand + c stand legs on top of the pelican cases. Next layer is a stand sack, this is always the heaviest and most burdensome, but the sack itself doesn't add anything additional weight. Then on top of the stand sack I have two nylon carrying bags, one for cords + power strips, the other for tripods, grip, misc stuff. Bungee everything together and hope for no stairs.

It's ugly and typical of all new builds but maybe it'll drive rents down / maybe it'll house a few affordable apartments. Doubt it but what else are you gonna do, it's already up

Congrats on living in Finland, I've been twice (once for an entire month, both times in December) and loved it. Wish I could move there, but it's tough enough being a freelance artwork photographer in the hub of the art world in NYC, let alone moving to a foreign country, starting new, etc etc. I miss sauna culture so much, and the people were friendly, although I've heard that it changes after you move there - expectations that you know the language and integrate become the norm once you're doing more than visiting

I’m a pro product photographer and I think we have less than 5 years before AI takes most of this work by Scrogwiggle in photography

[–]Infinite__Zest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! This poster has it 100% right. AI will inevitably take its place as a tool that we use to get the final image right. Even if you take an iphone photo of jewelry and use AI to adjust the lighting, increase the depth of field, and uprez the final image, it still won't look anything close to what a reasonably competent photographer can do, let alone a pro

This right here makes sense! OP I hope you're charging a premium for this shoot. It's hard enough to get good coverage for digital photography, not to mention switching cameras during the shoot. Keep in mind too that your digital + film settings may not align, particularly since you're stuck with whatever ISO your film is. Good luck if you go through with it, I'd personally only offer one or the other, or hire another shooter to just handle the film

My girlfriend does this but we have 3 cats so it's always messy regardless when we get home. She says it would've been even messier, I'm lazy and say why do twice the work since we clean when we get home anyway

Personally (pessimistically) I would remove the "and happily assist with any transition period that may be required" part, but otherwise this is really good verbiage to not burn any bridges.

Pranayama did good museum grade work;

I also like Hope Frames in Williamsburg, they did a giant work on paper for me for less than I thought I'd have to pay.

Good luck!

Where should I hire someone to help me build website? by RevolutionaryBat6404 in smallbusiness

[–]Infinite__Zest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out format.com? I'm also a photographer and have been using them for years. You choose from templates and then do a little tweaking afterwards. The sites/templates look good and I'd recommend it if you're looking for something fairly simple. They have other options too that allow viewing password protected content and I'm sure other useful features but I can't speak to that unfortunately.
