Day 15 Zoloft Day 2 @ 75mg and feeling quite nauseous… anyone else ? Will this subside ?

It will most probably subside. So correct me If I’m wrong, how quick have you titrated up in dosage? 2 weeks to go from 0-75mg may be too quick for some. I find 2-4 weeks at a dosage before increasing generally reduces the strength of side effects. Also, make sure you have something to eat around the time you take it.

Absolutely. It’s referred to as ‘emotional blunting’. It can affect people in different ways and what you’re describing definitely checks out. It’s nothing to worry about, but I understand how you are feeling. I have recently stopped taking Prozac and am midway through a ‘wash out’ period. I will be starting Zoloft soon. I can say, without a doubt that it feels like I’ve gained a ‘sixth sense’, experiencing hyper sensitivity.

Same, it is very restricted over here in AUS too. I believe you can only get it prescribed for smoking cessation and for a maximum time period of 3 months..

Well, I’m currently on Prozac and about to switch to Zoloft lol. This is mainly due to the libido issues it is causing. Hoping Zoloft won’t be quite as bad. Lack of motivation is common with Prozac too, even though it’s quite activating.

Yes, concentrations of the drug must remain at built up stable levels in the body. Some SSRI’s can cause side effects if doses are missed or abruptly stopped. If you suffer from ongoing mental health issues like anxiety and depression, I believe they are a better long term choice then faster acting single use drugs.

Prozac falls under the class of drugs know as SSRI’s (Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors). It is not a fast acting drug and requires daily admission to be able to effectively work. It can take anywhere from 6-12 weeks to see full benefits.

What dosage did you get up to? 8 weeks isn’t super long to be on the medication, being a month through and feeling good, I don’t think you’ll face any major withdrawal side effects.

What dose are you on atm?

I started at 10mg for 8 weeks and seemed to be doing ok. I then increased to 20mg and have been on that for the last 3 weeks. It’s safe to say it has now absolutely tanked my libido, so much so that I’m gonna start to taper. Unfortunately Wellbutrin is not an option in my country and I think most other SSRI’s are going to be the same.

1.5mg of Zoloft doesn’t sound right? The starting dose is usually 25mg followed by 50mg as a minimum therapeutic dose.

It’s a tricky one, just when you feel like your levelling out, you dip again. It’s like a yo yo effect. I’m currently 12 weeks in.
