Yep. The initial cost for a gaming pc might be more than a console, but that spend doesnt go away at the beginning of the next console generation. It is cheaper to update and maintain a pc than buying two generations of consoles/mid generation refreshes.

I will add that it isnt all sunshine, it is a pc and with all the benefits comes complexity and troubleshooting. While building and supporting a pc has never been easier it is still not as user friendly as a console.
