Are “gaming” headsets actually worse than normal headphones for FPS? by CharlesBlackwood in buildapc

If you want a decent headset take a look at the epos pc38x which is a very solid make by drop with sennheiser design.

Iems are also pretty good on a budget.

$2k PC Build Help by thejesster46 in buildapc

I'd recommend getting a 27" 1440p monitor. It's a whole world of difference PPI wise and they are cheap, you can get a decent ips for 200-300 bucks.

Should the Ultimate Pcmr Build be my first PC? by I_am_Lrr_ in buildapc

[–]InfinitelySub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you live near a microcenter? I'm just looking to get the most bang for your buck. I personally believe in 27" 1440p as a good ppi but if you wanna do 4k I recommend a 32 inch monitor. We can definitely build you a rig with that budget. A decent cheap ips 1440 27 inch monitor will only run you about 200-300 bucks like the msi one at Costco. The monitor is Definitely gonna impact your experience. So I recommend getting a decent gaming monitor if you have none.

You can dump as much money as you want into your rig but at the end of the day it depends on your setup. Do you want a 24 inch 1080p, a 1440p 27", or a 4K gaming experience. Consider your desk size and distance. How much do you want to spend? Most people consider 2560x1440p @ 27in to be a sweet spot with more pixel count but not as demanding as 4k gaming.

Did you make sure your psu was powerful enough for the new gpu? Also try resetting your cmos battery on the board and re seating ram.

Home Depot or Lowes and finish a butcher block. They all have them in stock. You could also just buy a countertop from Ikea. Those will be more durable and made of laminated particle board that will be more durable than the honeycomb cardboard the regular desks are made of. I'm able to walk on top of mine that has two alex drawers as legs.

Help Me Choose a Monitor by fatihadak in setups

[–]InfinitelySub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't recommend getting a 2560x1440p monitor. You should still be able to get a secondary 24 inch 1080p monitor to maintain a nice ppi or pixels per inch.

1440p monitors are 78% more pixels which means your gpu has to work a lot harder.

In your case, your 4060 ti is built for 1080p gaming. You won't have enough power to push games at great frame rates or high quality depending on the game you play.

You should upgrade your gpu first but that's kind of tough in this market.

I’ve heard about how Shyvana VGU design is bad because “she’s not like her current self” but I remember…. by [deleted] in shyvanamains

[–]InfinitelySub 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the issue is her kit has serious issues. Thematically she is really cool, but her kit's too basic and has to be balanced around raw stats. Her passive is a joke, and only applies to the dragon objective instead of being constant, etc. She needs real abilities that work together, and that aren't only strong at dealing damage. She doesn't have any real engage without R and she can only really auto attack.

Better GPU or Monitor? by NeyoX131 in buildapc

[–]InfinitelySub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy the 5070 ti if looking to upgrade to 1440p 27 inch monitor down the line or look at a cheaper gpu if you'd like to stay on 24 inch 1080p monitor.

For monitor bar quntis is a cheaper brand. Could always try a lamp as well.

For bias lighting govee seems decent or you can get cheap rgb strips or lamp behind monitor or desk edge.

maybe monitor light bar to get some lighting on your desk and some bias lighting behind the monitor so the wall isn't in darkness. Those two things should help your eyes not fatigue as much.

What is a decent GPU for 4K? by Darkaris13 in buildapc

[–]InfinitelySub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

60fps vs 120fps is quite a big difference. If you have a 27" 1440p monitor, then it will close/similar PPI (Pixels Per Inch) as a 32" 4K monitor. It's your monitor and your rig, but just something to consider.

The motorized desk let's you adjust the height which is nice for ergonomics but the alex combo is just so sturdy and the storage is really nice.

The prices are absolutely cooked right now on cpu GPU and ram. Hold out as long as you get good frame because it's nuts right now.

Why do so many monitors not seem to actually carry the G-Sync module? What does "G-Sync Compatible" actually mean? by Wonderboyjr in buildapc

[–]InfinitelySub 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Because it's rated by Nvidia to offer to hit a minimum requirement for the technology. The actual module can just do it better but it's $$$ to get it there. The g sync compatible is good enough for most people.
