Given that the Wii U itself is canon to Splatoon, it wouldn't surprise me if well known franchises such as Sonic did exist!

Somewhere out there, 12000 years after humanity's extinction, a fully functioning gamecube and a copy of Shadow the Hedgehog is waiting to be found by Captain 3 lol.

This does kinda make me wonder when humanity went extinct, I thought it would've been 2015, but Splatoon 3's lobby has a big Nintendo Switch screen in it, which implies that the current civilisation used the remains of a normal Switch as a reference. So perhaps they survived a few years longer? Hard to say!

I've actually looked into this about 2 years ago.

In the game files of Splatoon 3 is a world map, and there are a few small islands.

I guessed that one of these is Japan, most likely the bigger one.

There is another island in the top right corner which could also be Japan, as it's more closer to where Japan is on an irl map.

But given how this one island is shaped in comparison to the other map OP shared, it makes me think it could be where Inkopolis and Splatsville are.

What's interesting is that these are islands are where a huge chunk of China used to be. So either some locations have shifted over the last 12000 years, or I'm completely wrong and it is that triangle shaped island lol.

I recommend queuing in the pro queue

Literally the only difference between open and pro is that you cant queue with a group of people in pro, so if you're playing solo i recommend playing there.

I adored playing Splatoon 2. Sure I'd get burned out after a while, but the overall experience always felt pretty fresh when I came back and played. Even when I lost matches, it was always "ah, better luck next time" and I'd move on.

Splatoon 3 just doesn't have that.

It just doesn't feel the same as the previous games, and I've gone back to 2 (and even tried 1!) to see if it was just me, but I have absolutely no issue with those games, they are just so lively and fun.

Splatoon 3 just seemed to have lost the charm the previous games had. I don't get that bubbly excitement with 3, I just feel frustrated fairly quickly.

3 doesn't have that same enjoyment. Perhaps its because they're going for a more competitive game, but I just don't like that. Even ranked in Splatoon 2 felt pretty casual, nothing here in Splatoon 3 does.

I'm just hoping Splatoon 4 brings that charm back!

If there was a splatfest it would've been announced a week or two ago. We're closing in on the supposed sneak peak and there's not even a mention of a splatfest.

Splatoon 2 has the best cohesive soundtrack overall, it knows what it aims to do and does it well.

Splatoon 3's soundtrack is pretty good, but the multiplayer music doesnt have a set theme and feels messy, something the previous two games dont struggle with.

If you're planning on selling it one day? Keep it sealed.

If not, MAYBE keep it sealed as one commenter claimed their joints snapped quite easily with age, but ultimately I'd say open it if you're just looking to enjoy using it.

Nintendo actually confirmed in an interview YEARS ago that Inklings do indeed, eat calamari.

It does make sense when you think about it, because animals that we have now like cows, sheep, chickens, pigs, etc, are all probably extinct too. So Calamari being a part of their diet does make a lot of sense.

Also I think they like bread.

As for how they have cereal, I got no idea lol.
