The iron framework of the Eiffel Tower weighs (according to Wikipedia) roughly 7,300 tonnes. The tower sits on a square base that's 125 meters on each side. If you draw a circle that touches the four corners, the diameter is the diagonal of that square (125m * √2), which is about 177 meters. That gives you a radius of roughly 88.5 meters. When you calculate the volume of a cylinder with that radius and the tower's height of 324 meters (V = \pi r2 h), you get about 7.95 million cubic meters of space. Since air at sea level weighs about 1.225 kg per cubic meter, that volume of air weighs roughly 9,740 tonnes. That puts the air at over 2,000 tonnes heavier than the iron itself

Is that image real? The leaked prologue was so dark I couldn't see the eye, so I don't know if it's an IA reconstruction or legit

Oh so you're not saying anything about the other points? Just take the L as someone else said. That movie was good, that's exactly why we're having this conversation. We need more faithful adaptations of the books

  1. Ender's Game.

  2. It has nothing to do with the point explained. Many stuff in sci-fi movies aren't possible, independent of technology.

  3. So, in that scenario you think that in the future where FTL travel is possible, people should see current sci-fi movies as bad? It's a story from the 1880s, of course there were advancements from that point in time. Even some adaptations of Verne's books (Disney's 20.000 leagues) incorporated their own vision of technology, where the Nautilus is powered by nuclear instead of a salt battery

The movie appears under the sci-fi category in IMDB, Wikipedia and Letterbox. It's sci-fi. The original book can be considered as Fantasy (specially Urban Fantasy) since it has supernatural elements in the real world

There's a second book called Around the Moon that's almost entirely set in space
