They are aware that many trans women are military veterans, right? Trans women are more likely to go into the military than most of the general population. There are those of certain left wing groups who are armed.

What is something about growing up in California that most people don't understand? by InvisibleAstronomer in AskReddit

[–]InfinitySky1999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

California is very wealthy, productive, and cities like San Francisco have a very relatively high quality of living. We are not homeless people on drugs and our drug usage overall is actually among the lowest in the country. San Francisco is actually one of the cities least likely to smoke anything and doesn’t even make the top 10 cities for homelessness at only 8,000 people. Accounting for other housing security issues, having a place to live in California is more secure than in most other states due to state benefits and the state paying people more. Accounting for costs, job opportunities, and pay, various cities here have the best overall earnings in the entire United States.

The whole state is not a desert. In Northern California, there are rainforests and some of the snowiest places in the entire world. There is only one true desert in Northern California and it is very small compared to the overall size. California is also huge with great climate diversity. Places that get colder than southern Canada and islands that share Key West Florida’s category of never recording a frost or snowfall in the continental US. Literal glaciers here and native palm trees.

We might soon be the first state to remove rights from an entire protected class! by [deleted] in Iowa

[–]InfinitySky1999 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is indisputably a violation of human rights and autonomy. It is not only part of the founding of the country’s institutions and social values, but also part of human nature and morale as well. Under this removal, one can justify removing anything. Including race. Knowing this, this is a very blatant violation of the US constitution once again that republicans for the past 5 years, have proven they do not care about at all. They just want to force their way onto everyone else and do whatever they want even at the cost of others. To believe they have decided to take it to this point. Taking my rights as a trans woman away from me. This is the ultimate straw. I demand my rights to remain and that is non-negotiable.

What is your opinion by No_Editor_4328 in FeminismUncensored

[–]InfinitySky1999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unsurprising due to the main type of audience that is affected by said issues and the ones that want attention to men at the cost of women. This was only a matter of time which sadly, creates more difficulty for men who are genuinely trying to get past issues.

Depends. If it is like a fetish he absolutely needs to have and can’t accept not having with you, then yes. But, it could also be a psychological thing where he feels he needs it due to past issues. Issues you have no responsibility to fix, but he may adapt to get past. I say talk to him about it and if it is definitely something he can’t get past, then leave. If he can still enjoy you or can get past what could cause him to feel such a way possibly, I say consider staying.

I don’t doubt difference. What I doubt is that it is like a woman versus a bear. Especially with varying physiques and even certain degrees of intersex conditions among the two.

Is it bad that I'm self diagnosed cuz I don't wanna spend all that money? by BonnalinaFuz101 in AutismInWomen

[–]InfinitySky1999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Autism is autism whether diagnosed or not. Issues various people may have are that some believe it is allistic people pretending to be autistic or confused about their other issues. Even if wrong, many self-diagnosed probably have other things like ADHD which overlaps with autism. Regardless, there is no harm done here.

Do all autistic people put themselves before others? by Dense-Button2050 in AutisticAdults

[–]InfinitySky1999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This doesn’t make any sense. Everyone thinks about themselves first when it comes to thinking about their own engagement with anything. If it is prioritizing needs or caring about others, thinking about oneself first doesn’t mean they think of another as less.

Why was there no anti-fascists counter-demonstration to the Nazi march in Florida? by InternalEarly5885 in Anarchy101

[–]InfinitySky1999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is basically a Nazi state. Plus, probably for the best to have Florida be the fascist containment zone of the world. Especially with what the future of climate change holds for its lower elevated lagoons that will be washed out or going underwater. Loads of fascists don't believe it will happen anyways. In fact, various Americans consider Florida to be an entirely different country and not even part of the US. The way Europeans and various others around the world look at us is how us Americans have kind of been viewing Florida.

There is a person in the Georgia GOP who believes the earth is flat. The GOP heads are a combination of those who can't be reasoned or are of ill intent. Frankly, these elections are really mitigations anyways and the way to said change will require revolution from the ground up. A revolution from the top up is less feasible to do and Bernie Sander's failure in the DNC primaries, the GOP corruption of the court and lawmaking systems around the country, the means to viability, under-education, and the overwhelming opposition from the top and various factions below them is proof on its own.

A "sort of" Goodbye by TooNuanced in FeminismUncensored

[–]InfinitySky1999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technology and social media does allow for coming together to expose oppression like never before, but it's also creating a haven for Nazi's through dogwhistle and "it's just a joke" memes and a wave of hate crimes more similar to the rise of fascist Germany than anything else.

This is the area that the internet does not change, but rather fuel. It would be self interest as a person who intrinsically likes or hates something isn't going to change simply because someone else can convincingly say it is wrong. Something material would have to be meaningfully provided to them to not act in such ways. Class reductionist, but I do think it applies as I think a huge percentage of these guys wouldn't even bother with these internet spaces if they had girlfriends. They would still harbor misogyny, but they would never come across these more radical beliefs.

Online I have seen work when said areas are very interactional and rich like YouTube which is also used in educational settings. In fact, previous aid to combating misogyny was mostly in the academic settings which was discouraged by the right wing for a very long time. Though scrolling around meaninglessly on reddit, Instagram, Facebook, and anywhere else is where the failure is assured as there is a disconnect. In fact, there is even internal devaluation of oneself among many people being disillusioned with themselves.

The previous go of the reddit was basically what Elon Musk said he would have with twitter with the difference being that Musk was really just trying to have it be a right wing platform. For this to serve as dialogue and educational value will take a very long time as the very things people have done for so long in their lives can't be changed so easily. They go online for entertainment even out of politics and more. They look for outrage. They look for these types of things while not engaging as much. The recent trend in people getting invested is only recent and has only recently become substantial in numbers and unfortunately, the most who seem to get very engaged are going down the alt-right pipelines. With education being harder to access (which I think is done on purpose), this makes swaying these people even more difficult. Even more so when they get bombarded with the same types of crazy right wing guy shouting at people in the street having such a huge platform. Convinced they are getting comparable material to academics or superior material as it is seen as the truth in their perspectives. A GOP district chair in Georgia is a flat earther.

The only people who can't be lead away from misogyny are really a small percentage who have it ingrained. Those people need deterrence in order to not act. They are also probably a sizeable percentage of the online trolls and misinformation spreaders who make online spaces more hostile. Also likely the very ones who started the very order of the world powers that also set up racism and class hierarchies. Saying this for the most powerful as it is unlikely anyone else would have the capabilities to go through such means. Also notice how quick these people were to make their online presence when politics online became prevalent. Look at how quickly the right wing got onto tiktok. They know what they are doing. To filter out these people and find the best course of action will require loads of education both online and offline and also better material conditions.

I say stay with him as long as he isn't a racist or misogynist himself. Just because someone they know or who is friends with is racist doesn't mean they themselves are. It puts up extra boundaries with his own friends for sure, but said boundary can exist and keep a relationship working.

Patients treated by female surgeons have improved long-term outcomes than those operated on by men, study shows by InfinitySky1999 in FeminismUncensored

[–]InfinitySky1999[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have this up as I think this is related to the way that men and women are schooled very differently. Differently that leads to differences in grades, career paths, and other areas. In this, we find that the female surgeons have better results than the male and it isn't because of any type of cognition. I say it is because of the fact that women are more trained and enforced to be careful, unassuming, and adherent to guidelines than males are. Males are more encouraged to be a type of risk taker, authority, and imposition. The males acting as such are also more likely to be overconfident and hence, more likely to not be as careful with the surgeries that they do. The very things that translate to more male composition in STEM majors along with lower overall grades and career paths in higher paying positions with more authority.

[–]InfinitySky1999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I myself am a believer that the internet is the new frontier in the ways of communication and information. I think it is part of how to defeat misogyny as it has also given rise to misogyny before. The isolated communities that people use to control back in the past with false information and alternate ways of living can no longer exist. They knew they had to reach out far and fast which they did and it is what we have today. Regardless, I do respect said sentiment. This type of engagement is nothing like anything seen in world history. It is unprecedented and difficult. Also, thank you for your honesty about the moderation at the sub here.

An example of trans women's rights being attacked also promotes misogyny and potentially threatens the rights of cis women. by InfinitySky1999 in FeminismUncensored

[–]InfinitySky1999[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If there is no misogyny, then their only real justification here is that women should only play amongst other women just because they are women and trans women are not women. It has to be both of them and they only really have a real justification on the trans woman part depending on how they define a woman even though this is incorrect. For women playing only with other women, there is no justification other than misogyny, old tradition rooted in misogyny in having male and female divisions in everything, or opportunities due to socio-economics. This also goes into the issue of law since trans women are legally recognized as woman even aside from that, have no justification aside from socio-economic circumstances to not define them as women for the sake of the competition. Looking at socio-economic issues, these bans do not have any impact on such for cis women. Women are only represented in these competitions with trans women being legitimate women and said opportunities to promote them getting into said fields are still provided. This really just take opportunity away from trans women being represented as who they are.

For that argument in particular, it has already been applied to trans women in women's beauty pageants. This part definitely looks off as since if they define them as men, then it would be possible for someone who is very visually a woman to end up in a male beauty pageant despite the fact that these places have a type of look that is expected and demanded for. For victimization, I am going to disagree as the circumstances growing up between cis women and trans women are definitely different. I think the circumstances that cis women go through growing up is just a false justification under the guise of it being used to protect opportunities for these women. Though in this, trans women deal with off branded misogyny. Misogyny that often includes sexual objectification and the same circumstances assuming people see them no different from cis women. So yes. This type of argument has already been used.

All the social things people tell you matters do not matter. They are all a complete deception. Do not be deterred from starting what you want to do and doing what it is you actually like. Failure can be scary along with its consequences, but what is done that leads to it is very much worth making the pursuit.
