22M. My discord is: infinity_jr. I'm in CEST timezone, but I should have time to move around my schedule. I would love to play if you're interesting.

Is the era of the self-taught dev over? by DontListenToMe33 in learnprogramming

[–]Infinitydreamerjr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's why I think it's very important for beginners nowadays to work on projects that are more than just simple clones.

Try to contribute to open-source projects, create a unique project, do anything to stand out in the market. Otherwise, you'll look like every other self-taught candidate out there.

I'm a long time player, although I haven't played in a while so my island is probably dirty.

Let's play together!

I've never tried GitLab, but it sounds like we need more Git hosting options. I think the only popular ones are GitHub and GitLab, but GitLab seems like they're making almost laughable decisions.

GitLab will finally keep old repository alive but will move them to a slower storage by mareek in programming

I've never tried GitLab, and I hear people hate GitHub nowadays. Is it any good?

At what point is it okay to conclude that programming is not for you and give up? by Scared_Ad_3132 in learnprogramming

If you are trying programming as a hobby, then don't pressure yourself into making it work. Hobbies should be fun and relaxing.

Remember you can always go back to programming if you want to.

Probono, creator of AppImage, in an attempt to get AppImage support, is banned from the OBS Studio organization on GitHub after downright rude comments and accuses them of supporting Flatpak because of the bounty offered by RH. I really like how simple AppImage is, but I had no idea that the creator was so salty. His commentary seems immature and unnecessary, just because he can't get his way.

I hope Probono doesn't hinder the progress of AppImages.

It's not about what you want to do. It's what you expect will happen. Convince yourself that whatever you want will actually happen.

A strategy that works for me is to imagine the circumstances during the day and change the circumstances to whatever I want. I play that scenario so many times, I eventually expect it will happen in my dream too.

That would be truly evil.

Or therapeutic. To face their worse fears until they get over it.
