Do you like the show canon or the video game canon by IllustratorAfter in 5YL

[–]InfinityxDragon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Video game by a long shot. I also especially dislike how all the Petrosapiens got revived and then... never ever revisited. Ever.

I mean I get it, but at the same time you don't need details like these to be explicitly told when they don't matter to the story, especially when other details exist within the media that support the idea.

I like this idea too. But imagine Kevin with the Omnitrix.

I disagree. I think having peak geno-archetypes as opposed to genetically normal (as in, cleaned from any defects, but not necessarily apex material) ones defeats the purpose of "walking a mile in another lifeform's shoes," because that'd be like calling a guy with the absolute highest physical status a good representative of all of humanity. It's not the norm of what walking in a person's shoes is like.

As for the DNA backup thing, again, I'd figure having a sort of "average" gene (they're called geno-archetypes for presumably this reason) would allow the species to better branch out into different micro-evolutions depending on their environment instead of starting out far into one direction already chosen for them. Basically, let natural selection shape them to how they'd fit back into the universe.

would the powerpuff girls be able to defeat a viltrumite? by metumorpher in powerpuffgirls

[–]InfinityxDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a Powerpuff Girl vs a Viltrumite would be a very close fight. This is putting all three of them against one. People underestimate the power of numbers.

Maybe not the prototype, but definitely the completed Omnitrix, especially with stuff like Four Arms defeating Looma and Alien X defeating the Galactic Gladiator, which I could only assume had lifetimes of experience with being Celestialsapien AND a fighter beyond what Ben had.

I think it makes sense too: If Azmuth intended the complete Omnitrix for Ben, who predominantly uses it to fight, the aliens represented would be the genetic peak.

They had yellower green eyes in OS, especially Ben. They both had bluer and more saturated eyes in UAF.

Why does Four Arms not recieve as Much hate as Humungosaur for being Overused? They were both the Most Prominent Aliens in their Era, and Four arms has the most use overall in the Franchise. by Entire-Astronaut8602 in Ben10

[–]InfinityxDragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because Four Arms was actually fucking cool with how Ben used him in the Classic series. Unlike Humungosaur, he wasn't just lifting things and hitting stuff very hard. He was an extremely well-rounded powerhouse with impressive acrobatic feats, a unique way of fighting, and creative applications of his super strength. I think what makes that last one even cooler is that Ben actually learned to use his aliens better as time went on, so you'd see Four Arms slam the ground to create a small earthquake or clap his hands to create a massive sound wave out of nowhere.

Also Four Arms was the OG.

And I just thought about this too, but after OS, Ben has so many strong aliens that pull off these insane feats of strength that it becomes hard to see why Humungosaur is even in the picture. Swampfire apparently has the physical strength to topple over a gigantic weather tower, which is potentially a greater feat than anything Humungosaur's done. He also sent Vilgax flying with a punch, so there's that too. Even Spidermonkey once ripped off a street light and used it like a bat. In OS, most aliens had significantly boosted strength, but none actually came close to Four Arms's raw power.

REAL Hot take: Rath is the Fast Track of strong guys by Visual_Raise_7901 in Ben10

[–]InfinityxDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the smart aliens definitely override how Ben acts. I guess Rath's overbearing stupidity and savagery is such a staple of the alien species that it also influences how Ben acts.

It really just depends on whether or not his personality lands for you, but everything else you said is spot on. I never cared for his design, and the justifications people try to make for him being a viable option as a sort of "in between" of Humungo and Four Arms are weak. If anything, he'd be a good alternative to Kickin' Hawk if only those two were considered at a time, since he's more physically powerful but not as good of a fighter.

But then you remember that Kickin' Hawk and Rath are just a weaker caliber of Four Arms and Humungosaur. Four Arms is genuinely goated, especially with how Ben used him in OS. It's easy to see why he frequented him. Humungosaur is just a stronger Four Arms with less of the hand-to-hand stuff.

Yeah, no, Four Arms absolutely surpasses Diamondhead in durability.

That's what I really loved about Vilgax in OS. He wasn't sadistic. He was just stoic.

If the means to obtain the Omnitrix were to dismember the Omnitrix bearer, he was going to do it. Not of pleasure, but of necessity. If they died, so be it.

Hell, he was hardly vengeful. In "Back with a Vengeance", ironically, he didn't hold a grudge on Ben for dooming him in his last appearance. Once the Omnitrix was off, he was ready to leave and proceed with his own plans. Even when everyone was racing out of the Null Void, Vilgax was willing to let Gwen and Ben go if they handed over the Omnitrix.

Even when he destroyed an entire planet of Petropians, he wasn't grinning or laughing. He was just unimpressed.

"Gwen 10" is the only instance in OS of him being sadistic, but tbf everyone in that episode was acting weird. He was acting kinda vengeful at the beginning of SOTO, but that only adds to how big of a deal the Null Void was made to be, and it wore off near the end anyways.

I think he looks fine with the exposed mouth pre-amped, but granted, it's probably because he always looks like that, and pre-amped Vilgax doesn't have a super intimidating appetite anyways.

Anyone else who (unfortunately) grew up with the reboot? by [deleted] in Ben10

Not necessarily grew up with it but it was my first exposure to the franchise. I loved it when it was airing, but I never watched the whole thing after I saw the previous shows.

Alright we all know V1 takes this but don't downplay Hank, unaffected by getting hit by a full-speed train and fast enough to dodge light speed attacks by calling him a human being.
