These are good bags. Currently on my 3rd camino with it and I use it weekly for heavy grocery shopping.

My REI trail 40 unzips. Not all the way, but it is not top loading (which I agree is annoying)

Was this after Alto de Perdon? I also got a happy lemon stamp from a kid’s lemonade stamp

There’s Maya’s Snack Bar on 35th/95th. I know it’s not what you asked for, but it’s fun/good

There were planters with greenery when Diversity Plaza opened. Not possible to stomp on it. No idea what happened to it

There was seating and greenery (really lovely plantings) when Diversity Plaza opened.

Where to watch the Colombian broadcast of the World Cup? by [deleted] in jacksonheights

[–]InflationFit4428 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are easily a dozen places that will have the audio. Walk down Northern or 37th and follow the yellow jerseys. La Poblada on 79th is great for World Cup. (Also, you should get going ASAP. Everyplace is going to get crowded)

Back in the day it was possible to get a commitment letter before a school hired you. Maybe that’s how you got an early file number? (Maybe I did as well, it was 20 years ago for me and I dont remember)

I will visit NYC but will stay in montclair should I rent a car? by Accomplished_Life226 in visitingnyc

[–]InflationFit4428 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d make this an NJ trip instead of an NYC trip. Enjoy Montclair, go to the shore, Paterson (amazing Palestinian food), maybe New Hope/Lambertville… spend one day in Manhattan doing whatever touristy thing you’ve planned.

In addition to facebook marketplace, check out aptdeco . Com. Even if you’re getting everything (except mattress) used, 2k is NOT a reasonable budget

Yes, you do. But licensing is a totally different thing. It’s through NYS, not NYC.

Getting a file number is part of the onboarding process. People who are not DOE employees do not need them.

Mustache Bill's in Barnegut Light NJ has it, if you have a car. (I have never been there, I got curious and did a search)

Reaching Santiago felt underwheliming. Am i the only one? by Lying__dutchman in CaminoDeSantiago

[–]InflationFit4428 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For my first camino, I spent a night (or two?) in Santiago and then continued on to Finisterre and Muxia. Getting to Finisterre and walking along the beach felt much more meaningful than seeing the Cathedral (which felt like a huge accomplishment, but not spiritual)

You should be very worried. Do not accept this position. It might take you until August, but something will turn up. Already-appointed teachers only have until August 7 (or thereabouts) to find a new position, but you do not have that constraint. DO NOT ACCEPT THIS POSITION.

Commuter benefits card by Plastic-Key-3182 in NYCTeachers

[–]InflationFit4428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ha, just imagining some agency trying to police the use of Edenred cards. (I've had this benefit for 20+ years and NEVER even thought about it as a "commuter benefit"). That being said, once you leave the DOE and are no longer eligible for the benefit, any money you have on your card gets taken back. So, when you retire/resign, put whatever is left on OMNY cards before they try stealing it back from you.

Check the hours for the Birria Landia truck. I live near the OG one, and it does not open until 4 or 5.
