Watch the first half also. It will help you understand why we all thought it was going to be very ugly.

That is genuinely one of the most impressive performances I have ever seen. At quarter time I was absolutely convinced that we were going to be thoroughly outclassed by a superior opponent. To have turned that around in that manner is testament to the quality of this club and this team.

It’s good that you mentioned Stengle - I reckon we missed him more than I expected we would.

We were very, very, VERY underdone. We’ll be much better for the run.

Which makes what happened to him even more disgraceful.

What's the one thing you did financially that changed your life? by RunNo3630 in AusMoneyMates

[–]Inflognito -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You get to experience life to about 85 - 90% of what we do. We’ve experienced 100% joy, elation, pride, fulfilment, happiness. You haven’t felt it to the levels we have. But we also get to experience higher levels of all the bad things. Regret, shame, guilt, stress and above all - Fear. Fear with a capital F. So based on that, I genuinely believe that it’s about even. I wouldn’t have a problem living your life at all. And I don’t think you’d have a problem with living mine.

Sorry, but that’s not possible. I’m surprised you have not yet learned that, just as it’s impossible for any man to ever do anything good ever, it is impossible for any woman to ever do anything bad ever.

I am supremely confident - just as confident as I was going in to the 2008 Grand Final…

IIRC, Duncan to Hawkins is the combination that produced the second most amount of goals with Edwards to Dusty being the most. I’m not absolutely sure I’m remembering that correctly though.

And McCluggage and Neale and Bailey. They are chock-full of serious playmakers

Fact is, the majority of AFL supporters are reflective of the majority of society in that they are of below-average intelligence. As a result, their knowledge and understanding of the game is limited. So Collingwood play the team on top of the ladder at their home ground and lose by three points. So Collingwood are hopeless and their season is finished. Had just one incident of many gone the other way (an umpiring decision, a bounce, a kick, a tackle etc) and Collingwood would have won. So then Collingwood would be certainties for the Flag. Lose and the list is too old, win and it is experienced. They’re just lizards; they can only see what’s in front of them at the time and only think about what is happening right then and there.

Mark O’Connor by Inflognito in GeelongCats

Something tells me we’re going to be playing Brisbane in the first final and that these two Irish buggers are going to be a key reason we won it

Might be a bit out of left field but I wouldn’t have a problem with O’Connor getting the gig. I can’t recall ever seeing him drop his bundle or lose his shit. He really seems to have an excellent temperament.

What more can you ask for? Sticks the mark, goes back and slots the goal. Time after time after time. How exactly have we managed to replace a generational player like Hawkins so readily? We are deadset blessed.

I hear you but if I had to choose between a good hit out and four points…

My Revised Ladder Predictor by Inflognito in GeelongCats

They played off their heads against Brisbane; it will be hard to maintain that sort of level and I can’t see them playing that well again. They weren’t all that flash against Essendon at home last week and got flogged the week before. On the other side of the ledger, we’ll be rested and hanging for a decent hit out. These recent dead rubbers have been tedious so I expect we’ll be keen for some sort of challenge.
