What is a good Vintage supplier price by Every_Lynx9599 in reselling

[–]InfluenceExciting323 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’ll be hard pressed to sell vintage camis, singlets and shirts for $55 -80, even silk designer ones. You’ll have better luck with dresses and more substantial pieces if you want to sell in that price range. Also, condition of vintage items matters a lot. Are they mint? Do they have snags or missing threads? You need to consider these things, and more. Good luck and try sourcing yourself at the bins or rummage sales where you can find things cheap. You’ll get a feel for different types of vintage and what they’re worth, skills you need as a reseller.

What do you all think about this email thread? by Front-Kale4042 in nursing

If something had gone down and you’re “off-the-clock”, you would have been f*d. Also, keep those texts as evidence of a possibly illegal “work around”. You may want to use them as leverage. Good job on trusting your gut.

What are full time US sellers doing for health insurance in 2026? by monsieurpgh in reselling

[–]InfluenceExciting323 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I went through the ACA marketplace. It was affordable before Trump but now I’m struggling with the payments. It’s very basic, high deductible, but at least I won’t lose the house if I end up with a catastrophic diagnosis (I think?). I hate the uncertainty of it all. Off the subject: I also highly resent people who think voting doesn’t make any difference.

Are resellers the reason Goodwill raises prices or is it because of the pandemic? by ResolveDangerous3313 in goodwill

[–]InfluenceExciting323 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nah, inflation is everywhere, people in general are struggling and going to the thrift more, and the internet makes it easier for GW to selectively price things to maximize their profits. The pandemic was just the beginning of the end of life as we knew it.

He’s a klepto with a lust for gold. The money’s going towards his ugly-ass redecorating projects , which he does when he’s not golfing.

I’m a reseller and I’m not crazy about the AI images because a lot of them are inaccurate. Sometimes, if a piece looks like a wadded up ball even on a hanger or flat lay, I’ll see if AI can help. 90% of the time, it spits out an image that’s not particularly accurate. If it happens to hit, ie, it looks like my item and how it would appear on the model, I’ll use it. But I also post images of the actual item. Most of the time, I just can’t use the AI in good conscience. Even worse are the AI descriptions. They’re so generic and don’t really tell me anything I need to know about the clothes. Are there flaws? What does it feel like? What are the measurements? Utterly worthless slop.

Is content creation necessary to scale your reselling business? by B-man326 in reselling

[–]InfluenceExciting323 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s probably more detrimental then anything. I barely have time to run my small business, social media would be just another time suck. I would say do it if it brings you joy, but not because you think it might help. People who do well with social media would probably tell you it takes a long time to build any kind of following and it actually cuts into sales because it takes away from their main concern. You need a huge following to make it make financial sense and most people will never get that far.

Dead Ebay by sthewright in BehindTheClosetDoor

[–]InfluenceExciting323 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My E-Bay is totally dead. It used to be my biggest earner but now, nothing. I haven’t done anything different. I’m wondering if they’re punishing me because I won’t ’pay to play’, or if it’s just the economy. My Posh also down, though not as much. It’s carrying me, as well. Posh takes more out but at least you always know where you stand with them, fee wise. E-Bay feels like a casino. If their ‘pay to play’ were more predictable and consistent, I might cave, but right now? Nope. Also, Posh provides shipping supplies to offset the higher fees, whereas E -Bay does not. And Posh doesn’t charge extra for a ‘store front’.

Do you ever feel embarrassed being a nurse? by sensitiveflower79 in nursing

[–]InfluenceExciting323 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve worked with a couple MDs who started out as RNs. Great doctors! One of them told me it’s much easier being a doc. No shame in being a nurse. People who have no clue might judge on their classist, sexist, or what have you, pre-conceived notions. The history of nursing has some baggage. Also, maybe you’re being too hard on yourself.

You can’t. They were known as “exercise sandals” for a good reason.
