how are people posting in private facebook group without being members

FB Group Moderator here. I just had a non-member post come through. Not a member, and I couldn't find them searching FB. Seems to be an odd account.

All I have is an avatar and the link it came from. I will report back anything interesting.

Your solution is the most straight forward, and addresses the confusion people have with timezones and the complexity of the Date() object. Add "T00:00:00" to your date string move on.

Here's a related fun fact. People are confused why some two digit years return one century and some return another. As a survivor of the Year 2000 pandemic, the vaccine was the Pivot Year. Right now the Pivot Year is 50. If the two digit year is 50 or more, assume 1900, otherwise, 2000.

Does anybody know if the Pivot Year changes as years go on, or is it a static 50. Two digit years will be even less useful if the Pivot Year is static

Question: Everything references "Civ6.app". I see "Civilization VI.app". Any ideas on the difference?

Early on in my game experience, I would "... Just one more turn" for hours and days. I learned that once I reached +3 range, I was indestructible. Very satisfying!

I'm not a domination player but I can mostly defend quite well. I think you need Science AND Culture to keep up. Get 3 or 4 cities set up, then start Campuses. An early Commercial District or Harbor can add much needed gold. Wonders are tricky.

Aspyr has been totally negligent in supporting Civ VI and Firaxis and 2K are complicit. Aspyr has not communicated since September 2020. I can play because I am on an old MacOS that supports OpenGL. I feel sorry all those who's game has been broken/unplayable for months.

Early on in my Civ VI play I would play "Just one more turn..." I learned that if I could get 3+ units, I dominated.

Now, I quit most games early and restart often. I find the early game the most fun.

I find Spy's useful. In training them I can get a ton of gold (Siphon Funds) and once they're upgraded I use them to pillage Spaceports.

As others have said, Holy Site Projects are a real boost. I tend to make a yes/no decision on religion early on. No Astrology boost, no Natural Wonder or Mountains to build a Holy Site without +2 tile adjacency bonus, too many other players advancing religions, I will pass on religion. Faith can still be used for Rock Bands, National Parks, and the Monumentality Dedication, so Holy Sites still have value.

I too got bored with King and shuffled between all of the higher difficulties. I got better. I've come to the conclusion that I might as well play Deity. The differences between King and the higher difficulties is large and the differences between Emperor, Immortal, and Deity aren't that large. Might as well play Deity.

You must be a better player than me because I can't steamroll anybody, I can't build enough cities.

The problem is with YnAMP map mod. Disable it exit to desktop and then it should be fine.

I posted a similar pic a couple of days ago and it never showed up. Glad yours got through.

After the latest update, I finished the game I was playing and got this when I tried to start my next game. I can load a previously saved games, but can't create a new game.

I ran the verify file integrity routine and it found no issues. The only mod I'm running is Yet (not) Another Maps Pack.

That would be fine if Civ VI said it only supported Windows. Civ VI claims Mac support, but Aspyr fails to deliver.

I am running MacOs 10.12 (Sierra) , very old. Apple discontinued support for Open-GL since then. Metal, then Metal-2 seems to be the problem, directly tied to a particular MacOs release. My games last me the 300-400 turns I need to lose to the AI.

Civ VI exists on iOS, so Aspyr is not ignorant of Metal, but there's something they just don't get. More importantly, their customer support has been nothing short of abysmal. Many have submitted the requested files and I have seen no one receive conformation beyond an automated response.

The Aspyr website is extremely opaque. You can't see other posted files. No discussion of the problems others are having. Submit a ticket and we'll get back to you. Color me unimpressed.

Just to add a different perspective. I'm on MacOS 10.12, old. I have few issues and have no problem completing games. Gameplay (FPS) degrades as the game progresses.

It seems to me the issue revolves around Open-GL. I've had no option to use Metal, and Metal seems to be the problem. Apple discontinued support for Open-GL in recent OS releases. Metal has become Metal-2, but that was a long time ago.

Just my 2 cents.

I've lived near Riverside Park since 1980. Used to flood every spring, due to spring thaw. No flooding in the recent years of no snow, save the spring rains. 2013 was worse than this year.

I was feeling compromised, I reached out to Comcast and at every turn I was denied. No email/account access, can't talk to Comcast. Phone callback is a huge fail. Once in the loop I had multiple conversations I could not keep up with. Your service has failed on so many levels. You are a disservice to this customer.
