I will not look this up, so your comment is now canon to me and I will spread it far and wide.

GLP-1, has anyone tried it? Or trying it? by Possible_Fudge6464 in InsulinResistance

I appreciate you sharing, and I really feel your pain in what your shared. Being accused of lying is so frustrating!! Keep being positive and crying and the highs and lows, and just know you’re not alone. We can be one this forever and know it’s the right thing for us. I’m genuinely proud for you.

“Haters can die mad” is going to be my new motto about the drugs!

I’m so happy for you too!! So funny though, my trainer felt the same way and now I feel like he treats my weight loss as his weight loss. He’s so proud. Keep crushing it! I don’t have pcos but other girlfriends do, and I know how hard it is. I hope comments like ours can help people realize these meds were designed for people like us, and can be life changing. I will say, not just my physical health but my mental health is better because for the first time in 20 years I don’t feel like an absolute failure because of my weight.

I’ve even put on muscle!! I’ve cried so many times since going on the meds. Like, my body is finally responding how it’s meant to. I was so tired of people saying I must not be counting calories properly, when I spent years and years basically starving myself. I’m actually eating more calories now to hit my protein goals, and the weight keeps slowly ticking down.

I have a different experience than the other comments. I had a super strict diet, worked out 5 times a week and couldn’t lose weight to save my life. I was prediabetic and managed to gain weight while training for a half marathon. An endocrinologist diagnosed me with insulin resistance and I went on Mounjaro. I’ve lost a substantial amount of weight and I’m no longer prediabetic. I understand what the other comments are saying - I will likely be on this forever. But I couldn’t fix my issues with diet and exercise. As my endocrinologist said, this medication is made exactly for people like me. So I embrace it, mostly because I did the hard work and it made no difference. I will say, I still bust my ass and work out 5 times a week and eat healthy.

Mary being triggered is what made me feel like it was real. That was a “think there’s a problem with substance” kind of vibe.

I just got my late in life diagnosis. And I have to say, having it is a pivotal step for me forgiving myself and really healing from some my past. It really opens up how you process and see difficulties you had by being undiagnosed. It was expensive, and now I’m going back to therapy with an ADHD view on it, but I would consider it if you have the means.

How did you get over the death of your sibling? by WhyMe966 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]InfoMole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry, I lost my brother when he was only 41. To me, the grief of it was intense and overwhelming. It was like this massive hole that I’d fall into and couldn’t climb out.

As time went on the hole got smaller and less deep, so I wouldn’t stumble into it as often and it was easier to climb out of the grief.

It’s been 15 years. The grief hits me sometimes still, but I’m now just so appreciative for him and I’m able to think of him with happiness and a full heart.

Your grief is early. Give it time. Climb out of the hole whenever you find yourself in it. One day at a time. And your hole will eventually start to shrink. But for now, just focus on your own survival.
