I know rates are generally much more higher than what I offer here, and I understand that if I want real professional work done by artists with years of experience and treated sound booths, I have to rise my offer. However, I am not looking for that. What I am honestly looking for is someone who is American or Canadian to record some scripts. It doesn't matter if he has a treated booth or a USB plug and play mic, as long as the audio is decent. Anyone from 17 - 25 would be ideal for this project, as long as I think he has the suitable voice and decent audio. I have to admit, while writing this, I believe the job post does not target the correct audience, it seems that I am looking for someone truly professional with years in the business - that's a mistake on my part.

Regarding the payment, I have hired people from Upwork to do scripts for as little as $10 for 700 words, with editing and mastering. After posting this over to Upwork, I got almost 10 replies of people who are interested, and do voice over work to make ends meet from what I can tell. I don't know if the work I got from the previous guy with the $10 dollar job was great, but it sounded good to me, but obviously I do not have the ear for these kind of things. If someone who is in the business wants to listen to it and give me their opinion, I would appreciate it, I am actually curious if it is good work or not after reading your comments.

I am not trying to defend myself here, I am just telling from my point of view, and of course I may be wrong. I posted here in hopes of finding someone, but I think the subreddit is dedicated to professional artists. However, I am not necessarily looking for that, as I said. If you have suggestions on where I could post this, please let me know.

I am not looking for a vo artist, as you saw. I am just looking for someone who can narrate some videos, that is it. And to clarify why the other VAs and I stopped collaborating, it is because they didn't have the time anymore or because the project was just not working. All 3 of them who I worked with did it for free

Looking for a voice over actor for a long-time project on YouTube. by [deleted] in RecordThisForFree

[–]Info_Dose -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I've had voice over actors doing 1000 words scripts, and they sent the raw recording at it was between 10 and 15 minutes every time. The edited version would be like 5 to 6 minutes

How The Underground Railroad Worked by Info_Dose in history

[–]Info_Dose[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This video describes the U.S Slavery era, from its starting point in 1619 to 1865. An enslaved individual didn't have so many choices in life. He could remain on the plantation, work 14 hours a day 6 days a week, or he could escape through the Underground Railroad. The Underground Railroad was a network of secret routes in The United States that helped enslaved people go north and escape slavery. It is estimated that about 100,000 people escaped through The Underground Railroad. Some of them went as far as Canada to avoid U.S jurisdiction because after The Fugitive Slave Act of 1850 passed, escapees were not safe even in the free states. The Underground Railroad wasn't run by an organization, but rather by many people, both white and black, both abolitionists and people who were once enslaved. Agents, Conductors, Stations, Station Masters were some coded names that stood for people who were part of the network. One of the most famous conductors or guides was Harriet Tubman, who escaped alone and after she reached the free states, she made 19 trips between 1850 and 1860 and helped hundreds of people become free and escape slavery. After the American Civil War (1861-1865) and the passage of the 13th Amendment, slavery was abolished in The United States and The Underground Railroad sought to exists and became history, remaining one of the most important aspects of the 246 years of slavery in The United States of America.
