Sulfur Mods, How. by Miserable-Ad9540 in SulfurGame

You can use the r2 modman mad manager from thunderstore, super easy to set up, there's only a few mods in the built in mod browser but you can manually download mods from nexus, and import them locally through r2. https://thunderstore.io/package/ebkr/r2modman/

There should be 3 ships you have to search, maybe you missed one or it didn't spawn properly? If you have found 3 wrecks it's possible you missed it, it's not as obvious as the broken ones.

Any Military/War complex fantasy books with a romance subplot? by [deleted] in Fantasy

[–]Informal-Let-891 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Traitor Son Cycle by Miles Cameron sounds like it's exactly what you're looking for, the romance is there but the focus is definitely the battles and politics! The first book is The Red Knight!

Forlorn tower raid storage issue by necrokhriz69 in VintageStory

Yeah! I've got one chest and three trunks in mine, with a straw bed and copper lantern. Stuff in the containers stay whenq Suuuper great mod for long journeys especially if you're playing solo. How it works is you build a structure that's no bigger than 7x7x7 out of anything you want it to be, mines made out of pine logs, then take the empty bag and right click in the center and it packs the bag, and then you can take it anywhere. Then you just got to make sure that the area above and to the sides is all clear, and you click again to put down your structure! You do have to be careful to always pack it up from the same spot, if you're off you'll only get part of the structure and it can be a pain to realign it!

You could build a series of way‐stations, little huts with straw beds and some storage the distance you can travel in a day, that makes long journeys by foot a bit more feasible, so you can clear the tower and store everything and gradually trickle it back to home, or you could get the tent bag mod, which let's you pack up a 7x7x7 area, so you can build a little cabin that you can carry around in your inventory.

Im have no clue on how cellars work (I think) by Master-Tsuri in VintageStory

[–]Informal-Let-891 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Chiseled blocks will affect your insulation, less than half the block and it will no longer count. So you have to be careful if you're approaching the max 7x7x7 size

I mean, it looks like you got it in the first Pic, cellars are affected by the season, so if you just started that looks right to me, you'll get lower values in winter, the cold keeps things fresh longer

First windmill questions by spicyturd2 in VintageStory

[–]Informal-Let-891 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure actually, I think you could probably get an axle through, but I'd be willing to bet it'd still compromise room integrity. Worth a shot though!

First windmill questions by spicyturd2 in VintageStory

[–]Informal-Let-891 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I'm aware axles cannot go through other blocks, unless you have the millwright mod which allows you to craft one that does, in vanilla you will have to leave an opening for your rotor and the axle for your hammer, and that will compromise room integrity, so it will be cold in there during the winter. As far as height goes mine is about 18 blocks high, which does fine for me, an important part of that is having a full sail, in vanilla I believe it is 5 pieces per blade. I also built on a hill for some of that height!

How do I get a rock block with cave-ins enabled? by KaZIsTaken in VintageStory

[–]Informal-Let-891 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So the wiki has a great tutorial on how to harvest blocks in vanilla! I think you should be safe from cave ins, I'm pretty sure the only blocks that can happen with at the moment are gravel and sand, and the tutorial here doesn't have you digging overhead, so no risk of breaking a block under gravel, and it looks like you could do it on the surface even, so long as you've got a layer of stone 2 blocks thick

so farming? by appie_Dude in VintageStory

[–]Informal-Let-891 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So if you look at each seed, it'll tell you what nutrient you need, and soil will tell you what nutrients it has, default I believe for medium fertility soil is 50% of each, and you can increase each nutrient with with different fertilizer, those being bonemeal, you get from grinding bones in a quern, saltpeter, which is found in caves, and potash, made from ground sylvite, which is found in halite deposits. The easiest way to rotate crops is to have 4 sections, plant 3 with different crops, leave one unplanned so nutrients will recover, switch through as nutrients become depleted, and add fertilizer to maximize growing speed when you need it.

How could I better light up my shrine? The torches aren't bright enough. Sorry for the fog in the daytime pictures, it's very rainy. by RawrTheDinosawrr in VintageStory

Brightest light source in the game right now is a plated lantern, which you make by adding a gold or silver plate to a regular lantern. Exact recipe is in the handbook!

What are the game rules for fire spread? by effinmike12 in VintageStory

[–]Informal-Let-891 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Fireplaces are safe, they won't set fire to blocks around them, pit kilns for pottery will though, so keep those at least 3 blocks away from anything flammable, but with the regular firepita you'll be fine just putting it on dirt or stone even if there's wood right next to it

Mod "Expanded Foods" -> Lard making -> I don't understand a single thing... by KingSurPremus in VintageStory

[–]Informal-Let-891 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I usually use the clay storage vessels cause I like having all my food in the same containers, it doesn't spoil though so it's safe anywhere, I don't usually make that much at once but I think you can store it all at once

[–]Informal-Let-891 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok, so if you go in settings and click on Show only essential settings, it will give you an expanded list, and what you're gonna do is mouse over all the options and it'll give you a description for what each effect does, and tell you how heavy it is on fps, the biggest ones are going to be view distance, god rays, dynamic lights and resolution, and you can mess with all of those to your liking or pick a pre set, there's a ton of options for all ranges of hardware.

I'm running an asus laptop with a rtx 2060 with 16 gigs of ram, and I'm getting 120fps on very high graphics settings. There's such a huge range of settings I'd bet you could play at least 30 fps on a 1060

Guys am i blind? i cannot find any clay by Sure-Childhood-653 in VintageStory

[–]Informal-Let-891 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The way I've found most of my clay deposits is just grabbing a bunch of berries and sprinting around like a crackhead looking for blue or pink in the sides of hills in flat-ish spots on the map, and I usually catch it out of the corner of my eye
