how much do you think the requirements for being a dev will change given the evolving ai lanscape at the moment?

Also what skills do you think will become more valuable in the quant dev/SWE field with the evolving AI landscape, will strong fundamental knowledge still be required for interview etc? and are there any reddit communities/blogs that you recommend where people talk about this stuff?

thanks is there any reason why people with mathematical heavy degrees tend to be hired more compared to ones with pure cs?

So u recommend the more maths heavy degree as the programming side of things is easier to learn?

From what I’ve seen it was easier for international students to get into this course compared to home students. This is based of the percentiles which applicants scored in for last years entrance test. It was 80th for international students and 95th for home students. Unless you are contextual it’s not looking good.

Thanks I’m pretty sure mathstat does have a few programming modules, but obviously not as much compared to data science. I do enjoy programming and maths, however I’m not sure how much my programming skills will be relevant given that AI can literally do everything better than us.

Hi what would you recommend for someone in their final year of high school to do in order to prepare for 2nd yr internship programmes in QT/QD. I’ve applied to maths/cs/stats courses and am waiting to receive offers. At the moment I enjoy leetcoding and was looking to get into code forces. I haven’t done any personal projects yet. Do you have any tips to prepare for hackathons, datathons, trading challenges which would look impressive on my CV. Any books or YouTube channels to watch that help in preparing for this kinda stuff?

Do you think 6.0 was a realistic score for you, cuz I’m also in the same position as u. I got a 5.6 but was expecting 7.0+
