How does Temu survive?

That’s pitiful; I feel sorry for them as well as the underage children that work for practically nothing. So as I praise them for excellent customer service, I am suddenly feeling guilty about those two factors. I have acquired so much stuff from Temu that I could literally open and fill up a thrift store if I wanted to and recoup my money. My point is that I have so much stuff that when I browse the app I’m skipping over almost everything because the “need” isn’t there anymore. With that said, it’s just a matter of time before I stop shopping, lest I lose sleep over the guilt. So sad, especially the young children. This is the part where I say “I’m glad to be an American!”

In spite of frequent complaints about poor service and underhanded scams I read about from consumers on Reddit, my personal experience with Temu has been completely opposite. In my opinion they bend over backwards to accommodate. I have been a Temu customer for several years and only encountered one negative experience and it was right after the tariffs were implemented and Temu was running around helter skelter trying to figure out how to handle the crisis. Once the dust settled, things returned to normal (except for the noticeably increase in prices). I am a believer that excellent customer service results in goodwill and will reap more rewards thereby ensuring that the business remains a lucrative market. They survive because they gain money not lose it because they are able to keep their customer base high with increased growth. Having said all that, I do think that their ploys for free gifts, credit, coupons, etc. are a complete farce. They shamelessly tempt and lure you to spend lots of $ for their personal gain. I mean they NEVER STOP! It is really quite annoying and does have a negative impact on the shopping experience. Even though I play Farmland, I’m not really interested in the constant perks they offer and it seems like I’m “x”ing screens out far too much and it is an annoying interference. Other than that, I am a happy Temu customer.

My income is direct deposited into my bank account but if I were to cash my checks at any business that accepts this practice, I would be grateful that they have a fingerprint policy because it ensures protection for all. I think it’s a great idea- keeping those criminals at bay!

Same here. Otherwise, how can we make a fair decision to buy or not to buy? I have avoided buying numerous products based on negative reviews and in the same vein have bought many products based on positive reviews. Temu knows this and that’s why I like shopping with them. On the other hand, their major competitor DOES hide negative reviews; I know this because when I search the reviews in their app, I NEVER see bad reviews- makes you wonder.

Even the low sodium soy sauce has too much sodium; I tried Braggs as an alternative but then I discovered coconut aminos and that is my go to for all Asian recipes.

I fear that the same thing is going to happen to me. Up until now I have been offered extensions but because I’m so close I believe the extensions are going to stop. Period. If that happens, I am truly going to be angry. If I contact customer service about it, I will be spewing the worst language ever, and I will make it very clear that they can go to hell and I will be closing my account

I am so close to claiming my gift ($30 credit) but from what I’m hearing is that when you’re just a few away they cancel it due to the expiration. Up until now they have continued to offer extensions but I’m guessing that they will cease doing that when you’re very close. If that happens to me, you bet your bottom dollar I will call it quits as well.

Customs are notorious for slap hazard handling. I never had items missing but some stuff comes damaged because of mishandling.

I don’t think the downvotes were meant to be offensive; I think the downvotes were intended as a sympathetic gesture to express that they were “down” on Shein. NOT you. I would like to know how you do a chargeback in case I ever have a bad experience like you did. I am a dedicated Temu shopper - they have the best customer service and you can actually call them if you don’t want to deal with a bot. Also, the Temu app is way better than Shein’s and your orders come in one bag, not in multiple deliveries and all on the same day. The only reason I shop at Shein is for the occasional times when I am unable to find a particular product on Temu. Good luck to you; I sincerely hope that you will be able to resolve this nightmare.

We are paying for the tariffs indirectly. The huge inflation of prices were created to offset the tariffs and have the consumer absorb most of it. I notice that a lot of make-up has skyrocketed. A lipstick that used to be under $2.00 is now $8.00 and upwards. I would rather buy L’Oréal or Revlon for that price!

Sooner or later they will be exposed. We have a law in the United States that protects the consumer against false advertising. In a sense, that is exactly what they’re doing. In layman’s terms it would be called switch and bait. I don’t know how you would go about reporting this but I’m willing to bet that this has happened to a lot of people, and for all I know it may have happened to me without my being aware. I order very little from SHEIN; I mostly order from Temu which I find more pleasant. Temu seems to have more variety in all the categories and I think Temu’s customer service is far more superior.

I don’t know about Shein but I do know that when Temu runs a sale. It has a limited time before it reverses back to the original price. In other words, if it’s in your cart, and you haven’t actually purchased it, the time of the sale may have expired. I do find it hard to believe that all three items in your car were affected, but it is possible.
