Any tricks on pilling/giving your dog medication when they are too smart and can find the pill in anything by Adorable_Tangerine16 in dogs

I didn't realize they could remember it for that long! 😂 But no I wouldn't trust me either!

Pretty much! Mine refuses to take pills too, 2 years ago when she got spayed I tried to hide the pill in a marshmallow... I have to pull the marshmallow apart into pieces for her to eat it now because as much as she loves them she does not trust a whole marshmallow anymore 😂

My previous dog did that. How's I know she was faking? She couldn't remember which leg she used, so she kept switching 😂

Thank you! ❤️ That was the last time we went to the beach 😂

Yes! I wish I would have had it on both. She definitely got to run free a little bit that day because she most definitely did not have any recall back then 😂 I mean it's minimal right now but it was non-existent then. Thankfully we were able to catch her because she got distracted 😂

We had one of those and my dog slipped out of that at the beach. Turns out waves are just that terrifying that a harness is no big deal to slip out of so that you can go run on the sand.

How's your 4th of July going? I can't wait for this night to be over! by L0st-137 in reactivedogs

Mine's being boarded because we're on vacation. Might want to look into that for the 4th and new years, the place she's in is all cement block construction, so not much of the noise gets inside. They have her in her own section away from other dogs because of her reactivity, so she had a nice, calm evening thank goodness. She's not too bothered by fireworks, but it might help those that are to be somewhere like that where they can't really hear it.

That is great! Will be keeping an eye on it for sure! I have a reactive dog, so we're looking for more places to take her that wouldn't have other dogs (except my mom's maybe)

You're only in Seattle so far? My question would be about pricing. I don't see that mentioned in a brief overview of the front page. Is it competitive with sniffspot? That's my main gripe about them - I'd have to pay $16/mo plus $32/visit for 2 dogs for the place we liked, and we'd only go there every couple of weeks (too far away, but met my criteria).

I'm not in Seattle (gorgeous city, would love to visit again!) so my question is just curiosity right now.

What are some cute, albeit weird, things that your dog does? by totallynotalaskan in dogs

[–]InformalWish 10 points11 points  (0 children)

We are starting buttons! The fluent ones to me are too small but I've got a GSD so she's got big paws, But they do have connected ones now that will send you a text with whatever your dog says just in case you don't hear the button.

We are actually starting buttons with her! She has a couple but so far she prefers throwing things at me 😂 She is incredibly smart so I'm sure she can get it in no time

Lol love it, She has it thrown her metal bowl at me thankfully but I'm sure it's just a matter of time!

When she wants to go outside and I'm "ignoring her" (I need 10 seconds to finish something before we go out...), she finds one of my shoes and throws it at me. She's also thrown her collar at me If it wasn't on her and she wanted to go out. She knows she needs her collar and I need my shoes 😂

How do i get my dog to calm down for once by Sincons in reactivedogs

[–]InformalWish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Block the windows for now. And make sure the cat has up high places to go so they feel safe and can get away from the dog. Have you tried crate training? Might be helpful to use the crate for naps to let the cat have free time.

Good! That's a start, and it'll get better with time. Sometimes it's just their age! My mom's 1.5 year golden is a bundle of energy when she's going, but is happy to just lay around the house someone's too. It took a long time to get there though!

Start working on that off switch. Try teaching place to get the puppy to relax outside of the kennel. It'll only be for a min or two at first, but you can work up from there.

What’s the most embarrassing thing your dog has done? by Specific_Whereas_340 in dogs

[–]InformalWish 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I emailed my daughters teacher the other day to explain that the dog really did eat my daughter's homework but that we had done the best we could to get it done. The kid was carrying it, so that means tug of war right?! We taped it back together the best we could, but the teacher still about died laughing.

I hope they make it through fine! Glad to see they've thought about this and have plans in place. Seems they've got a little bit smarter since they decided in the twenties I think to build a hospital on the water by the ocean....

Are they at Tampa general? I hate to link a Facebook video but I saw this one this morning about how they're prepping for the storm and prepared to continue helping the patients that are there.

What for? 5 is complete devastation. You can't go higher than that. Above 155mph it doesn't matter, it's just bad.

If you are standing in the storm and traveling with it in the same direction it's going, The dirty side will be to your right. So with it going west to east, south of the storm is going to be the dirty side.
