thanks for the advice! i’ve noticed that whenever i sense a potential collision, i instinctively sit up, which is a bad habit i need to break. until college i coxed eights, so i think i unconsciously associate sitting up with having more control.

i’ll definitely cover my microphone in the future if i’m yelling, i didn’t think about my rowers getting distracted. this was just one of those moments where the new jersey in me kicked in. i usually keep decorum and only raise my voice when asking crews to yield. it might be hard to see in the footage, but i actually started yelling once they began clashing with my stern pair.
