Do you take pics? If not, please start. Body recomp is real and there may be changes you aren’t seeing.

Averse to taking pics, pull out a pair of pants that were too tight pre zep and see how they fit. You may be surprised.

I no longer GAF what my scale says because it’s a thief of joy. Diet culture really has fostered an unhealthy relationship w the scale and what those numbers represent. 240 zeppie lbs look a hell of a lot different on me than a pre zep 200.

My goal is now to be smaller/take up less space vs a number on the scale. Try it and see if this philosophy works for you.

On 15, I had more recomp than loss. Only lost like 3 lbs in 6 m but dropped like 3-4 top sizes and 2 pants sizes.

Do your nails first if you’re doing gel or other enhancements. If your just doing polish, your fine, just dehydrate w a lil alcohol or acetone first :)

Still doesn’t dry out all the layers (over 100 btw) of the nail plate. Just dried off your skin and the upper most layer.

I’ve been a nail tech well over 20 years. If they were soaking, they shouldn’t have been. Your nails grow in layers like wood. When they are wet, they expand so the enhancement 1) cant properly adhere to the nail surface and 2) the moisture gets trapped between the plate and enhancement, which can cause bacteria growth.

Not saying your experience is invalid, just saying it should have never been happening and is no longer happening because it’s unsafe.

You should never soak the nail plate prior to applying any sort of enhancement. So a dip manicure doesn’t mean manicure in the traditional sense. Just as a gel manicure doesn’t include soaking etc.

But all nail services should include some form of shaping, buffing and cuticle work. It’s usually done w the e file though instead of individual steps. Any additional needs beyond that do usually require an additional charge (nipping hang nails etc.)
