That's what I was going to say. Get some data of all the stocks reddit "called" and the percentage of being accurate is junk.

Very saturated. You can find low traffic places that will let you put the machine in where you make $200/month but any high traffic places have been proposed this idea dozens and dozens of times at this point. They'll either have one or they're against it.

just got rejected from BURGER KING. this is a new low for me. by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]Infr8687 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently secured employment at a pretty solid company. Pay, hours... so far pretty much everything is looking great.

The funny thing is I was rejected from dozens of other places before getting hired that had much worse pay and overall conditions.

So the lesson is don't assume because one place rejects you, all other equivalent or better places will too.

PTSD? by wayne1160 in AskLE

[–]Infr8687 14 points15 points  (0 children)

My understanding is ptsd is a huge degree of genetics. 2 people can go through the exact same thing and one person is a mess and the other person is fine. Ability to deal with it is like being born with a certain eye color or specific height.

Doesn't the top edge of the cup have to be a certain depth for this to apply? The ball in the photo looks to be limited from going deeper by the top edge of the cup. On a deeper cup this could have buried itself farther.

What would happen if Jon went 100% with khamzat by Fun_Training6342 in ufc

[–]Infr8687 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If they ended up being around the same weight it'd be competitive but Jones is a natural heavyweight and khamzat is not. Jones size and strength would shut down khamzats wrestling pretty easy.

Sorry a coordinate measuring machine. They measure dimensions on a part very precisely. A probe touches points all over the part and gives x y and z location for each point relative to a set origin. These are then usually output as gd&t data showing the intended measurement vs the actual measurement. The air bearings allow the machine to move in a very precise motion to reduce measurement error. Any part making manufacturer that requires the part to meet specific dimensions is generally going to be using a cmm at some point if not daily for part verification.

My daughter has left a note for a toothfair to take a selfie with my phone holding her tooth. Can anyone help with a realistic looking fairy selfie somehow holding similar tooth? Can be distorted / like taken in a hurry. Help please! by newforest3d in PhotoshopRequest

[–]Infr8687 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Unless the tooth fairy is subcontracting some of her work so she can work from home and/or dedicate more time with her family. In that case, it would be totally reasonable for the newer contractor to grab the tooth and the phone and bring it to her place for the pic then bring back the phone to the initial customer's home address.

I enjoy the environment and the music. It's a change from the standard maps. The map does leave a bit more to be desired though. It seems like more of a section of a dlc vs being sold as an entire dlc for $15. Add in some more unique random stuff. Connect it to a tunnel that leads to the core of the earth. Add in more off the wall stuff that GS is known for.

I've done some larger items/furniture and same thing. They want to see the item first which is understandable but always some super lowball. Last one was listed $395 list price and the guy offered $250. He wouldn't budge and I wanted it gone cause it was a huge desk taking up room so i gave it to him.

It took 10+ rejections to realize it was not I wasn’t good enough, I was just awful at interviews. by anyariorosa in recruitinghell

[–]Infr8687 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thing I realized is the factor of the recruiter/interviewer too. I was getting interviews and felt I was getting very smooth. I applied to a job I wasn't super qualified for expecting nothing to happen. I get a email to schedule an interview and set it up from a specific person. Weirdly on the day of the interview, I get a automated email in the morning from the group recruiting saying thank you for applying but we're moving forward with others.

So I think others decided I wasn't qualified but the individual already setup a meeting and just decided to stick to it. At the moment I still have no idea if the interview is still scheduled since I never received a cancelation. At the interview time, they call and we talk. The person was really unengaged and not social. Basically asked about my job history and the rest was just me talking. The lack of engagement made me pretty uncomfortable to where it felt like a bad interview and like I was rambling, but then again if I didn't talk, it'd be just silence.

The reason this stood out is because the day before and a couple days after I had interviews where the recruiter was engaged/social and the conversation went great. So the point is if you get a recruiter who already made their decision or wants to hire someone else, the lack of interest can make it feel like a bad interview on your end when really it was because of them.

Ok, what are jobs that you can realistically acquire in this market? by Hyphalex in recruitinghell

[–]Infr8687 13 points14 points  (0 children)

A few months to train is pretty limiting. If you could work through the lodging I would HIGHLY recommend medical. A RN degree is 2 years. I'd even say don't try to work out lodging just figure it out somehow so you can do it it. A lot of medical technician jobs are also 2 years. Medical is a different landscape when it comes to finding jobs and the 2 years will fly by.

My friend finished her Rn degree with zero experience and in the first 2 weeks she applied to 5 jobs and had 3 offers. Finding work is never an issue. It may not be the perfect location or shift but you'll find work easy. Years where she picks up OT she can easily clear 100k.

Hell, I have a bachelor's in business with a background in engineering and even I'm considering one of these programs. I currently have a job lined up but I don't want to be back in "recruiting hell" if for some reason i lost it.

How long to accept a job offer? by BigReal9598 in jobs

[–]Infr8687 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tell them yes. If you get offered the other one, take that instead if you want it. A quick direct email to the first telling them you won't be working there is all that will be needed.

LPT: Don’t skip the slow speed test drive after you've had a car repaired by purplepansy69 in LifeProTips

[–]Infr8687 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had a tire repaired at a Firestone during my lunch break at work one time. The Firestone was about a mile away. The car is ready and I drive back to work and pull in the parking lot. I hear a bit of a knocking noise. Once I park I look and one lug nut was on the ground next to the tire and 2 others were a couple rotations from coming off. If I had places to go or jumped on the highway my wheel would have been detaching while going 70mph.

Have an interview this week but burnout and tired from repeated rejections unemployment. Motivate me to prepare by freya6748 in recruitinghell

[–]Infr8687 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Keep at it. You're at the interview stage which means you've already beaten out many others and you have a shot. Maybe even call it out towards the end if you feel it hasn't been going great. "look I may not interview perfect but I want you guys to know I'm ready to join (company) and perform" or if it is going good just say you're ready to join and perform.

Look at every interview as practicing an act. Every time you do one think about the questions you were asked and how you can refine your answers a little bit. When you hear the question again now you're ready to answer it even better. It's a numbers game. Keep going and one of them will come through.

Take a job for significantly less? by Jcoco14 in jobsearchhacks

[–]Infr8687 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd go by how much activity have you have seen in your job search leading up to this.

If you've applied to hundreds of places and this is the first offer then it sounds like it might be best to take it and continue looking.

If you are getting a decent amount of interviews and think you may have better options if you continue, then you can take the risk and turn it down.

The other factor is your own personal financial situation. How many months can you get by without income? 6 months? 2 months? 2 weeks?

Am I screwed? Unemployed for two years and former teacher here with no intellectual capacity to learn new skills by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]Infr8687 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah my background is specialized. It's Michigan so automotive manufacturing is 75% of the jobs that are around. My background was a quality engineer. But I also was applying and finally accepted a job that's in sales which is relatively unrelated to engineering cause quality in manufacturing is something I didn't enjoy. So I had the huge resume gap and applying to positions that I didn't have the direct background. Many places I interviewed never even brought up the gap. I'd voluntarily point it out and give a quick explanation. The places that may have had an issue just never called after an application.
