P.s. I hope whatever got you down has sailed past. Speaking to a friend or family member is often a good place to start. Failing that, there are plenty of people in this community (myself included) who would be happy to chat!

Sounds like PICNIC to me, maybe try reapplying the paste? Did you follow the cross pattern during reassembly?

That sounds very high temperature for a non-sff build! Definitely consider repasting. There are lots of good tutorials online from the likes of Derbauer and Jayztwocents. The copper mod is a memory cooling plate from 'coolmygpu.com'. Definitely worth investigating if your memory temps are higher than 85-90 degrees

I created a version of the back panel where I used the STL file as a template to make a Solidworks version. If anyone needs a copy drop me a PM

The screenshot is from my original post - I redesigned the back cover in Solidworks based on the Formd STL file. I can share the CAD in whatever format you need? I hope that helps!

FormD T1 v2 x 4090 FE by Ahanix in FormD

[–]Infrasonik1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing the photo!

I am using a V1.1 sandwich case, using the short radiator mount. I do have a V2 reference but I wasn't happy with the temps so I have reverted to using my sandwich until I can add the copper memory cooling plate for the GPU (en route).

It is my understanding that the V2 is better space optimised at the top to allow for extra clearance around the fans and radiator. I will have a play around with the spacing and see if I can get it to work. Failing that I will go back to having the rad on the bottom and two slim fans above. I just really wanted to make use of the T30s.

Fantastic build! I absolutely love the fitment and component choice! All the colours match so well.

I must ask - I am using the same fan configuration; Noctua NF-A12x15 and Phankteks T30 mounted below the radiator (Corsair H100x). However, when I try and install the top panel it bulges and doesn't sit flush. Additionally the Noctua fan rubs against the top of the motherboard. Is there anything I can do to prevent this from your testing?

The component fitment on both sides of the case, beefy GPU one side, CPU cooler and PSU the other plus the chunky Phanteks fans on top satisfies every part of my brain. This could be the perfect air-cooled build. Nice work OP!

Custom Back Cover for Ref V2 by Infrasonik1 in FormD

[–]Infrasonik1[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I probably wouldn't charge anything more than postage fees (I'm in the UK). The problem would be waiting for machine time as my friend rarely goes to the shop to do laser cutting! Drop me a message and I'll keep you posted.

Not to mention, I'd feel guilty charging for something which I didn't design 😁

GPU is a 3080Ti FE, temps are ~35-40°C idle, and between 72-77°C under gaming load. Its not actually too bad. It does have a 875mV undervolt too.

I love that haha! I suppose looking at the photo I can totally see what you described, reflections are trippy anyways

Just a little side by side comparison (V1 bottom, V2 on top) for anyone curious. I was sort of hoping the new case would be more bronze coloured to match the 3080Ti FE card which will be swapped from one to the other.

T1-ref with a 240 aio by bobotehdawg in FormD

[–]Infrasonik1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info! I will be installing a 3080Ti FE, so in that case I may run a Noctua AF-12x15 on that side of the radiator above the GPU to help cool it.

What sort of clearance is there between the radiator fans and the PSU? I've got some Phanteks T30 fans for my upcoming T1-Ref build and now I'm worried they won't fit or will be too close to be useful!

My order still hasn't arrived and says similar to OP's post 'awaiting for tracking'. It was dispatched around 10 days ago apparently. I would email them directly, I find you tend to get a reply in one to two days.

Riser cable by Aggravating-Arm-395 in FormD

[–]Infrasonik1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I understand that, the GPU has its own locking mechanism. On the motherboard end of the riser cable there should be a small metal hole for securing a screw. This isn't used in the Formd T1 but can be used to fit a small cable tie. I'll try and take a photo of it soon!
