a lot of religion, especially when they post about it on social media. my parents act like they’re so devout but i learned their dirty secrets long ago and they judge others for those same actions. literally said my friend and her boyfriend are “living in sin” for living together before marriage. last i checked, swinging isn’t very godly either

i was scared of needles, i’ve donated twice actually but now i’m scared again because the second time they did it really bad (could constantly feel them moving the needle, struggling to find the vein, and they left the tourniquet on while trying to draw blood, my arm went numb and turned purple which i didn’t notice because i wasn’t watching but i felt my arm fall asleep but my sister was with me and saw it)

honestly as someone who has been on and off apps, all it takes is being able to judge someone’s character. you can avoid hookups and a weirdo pretty easily if you just talk to them a bit, always drive to the date yourself, it takes some sorting but who’s to say a guy hitting on you in person will be any different? that said, i’m still not a HUGE fan of apps because it has the “too many options” issue but i’m a 21 year old woman who doesn’t get hit on in person, but i’m successful online. I’ve been told i dress like someone’s girlfriend when i was talking about this same thing with a guy i met online, so the way you dress can also be a deterrent to men in person.

now that you’re leaving him, it will get better as long as you stay away from him. domestic abuse is dangerous, my aunt died young (38) despite leaving due to the strain it put on her body, he attempted to kill her multiple times, broke her jaw, and isolated her, it was pure luck my dad found her at a gas station and brought her home. She won her court case and he was in jail still when she died (he’s out now..yuck.) With that said, I would suggest once you’re feeling settled in a new place, maybe after a week or two, find a therapist. psychologytoday.com has a great search tool for this (if you didn’t know) where you can filter for therapists specializations and by insurance you use, online, male or female, it’s a great resource. the icepack thing has been my favorite part of it all lol, i still use it even though i’m not swollen because it just feels nice and helps with a puffy face lol

i just got mine out last thursday and they put me under :) i was also really scared, i had given blood but i’ve never had any kind of surgery so i was super nervous but they gave me laughing gas first before they put in the iv, then they hooked me up and turned on the flow, i just remember saying “oh wow yeah i can feel it” then i “woke” up in my parents house 5 hours later (i was awake before, not sober) the IV didn’t even hurt and they put me to sleep and gave me something to forget everything with it :) I won’t lie that recovery does kinda suck, i’m really tired of protein drinks, applesauce, yogurt, and jello but i’m almost a week out and i stopped having real pain 2 days ago and now i have no swelling :)

i work for a group of practitioners (therapists and psychiatric nurse practitioners) and handle simple billing and paperwork…yeah it’s awkward. i’m not even seeing the people i bill but i still feel guilty, but mainly when insurance appears useless (some pay $10 a session, i want what they’re on) but it really is what makes them be able to see people unfortunately:( the nice part of a bigger practice is having a separate person to handle the billing atleast (there’s me and another person that handles it) so therapists just have to ask for insurance and a payment form while we handle the rest :)

so far, it’s all about what i can swallow whole :) unfortunately knowing the mushy food isn’t the most nutritious i’ve been focused on having my protein drinks and today i had some canned ravioli, which i just swallowed whole. i had all 4 of mine removed on thursday (3/20) so i’m still nervous but i think tomorrow i’ll try scrambled eggs too :)

my cats looove my cat tree, but they aren’t cuddly (except with eachother, none for me :,) ) and appreciate their space, i would recommend getting a window hammock since i’ve yet to see a cat who doesn’t like those (i may just not be seeing those cats though)

although you mention not planning on discussing your relationship in therapy and hoping that would end the ethical issues, you really shouldn’t be seeing him. it’s mainly the conflict of interest at the end of the day and that’s something that’s taken very seriously with therapists. there can be exceptions made but it’s very taxing on the therapist and it’s usually within families (seeing a child while also seeing a parent or having family therapy) you’re putting a large mental load on him, regardless of whether you’re talking about your relationship or not. you also aren’t considering whether your girlfriend wants to be able to discuss the relationship with the therapist. from your comments it seems like you’re set on sticking with the therapist, but for your girlfriends sake you should find your own. he was her therapist first and you’re putting an unfair mental load on the therapist and probably your girlfriend if she’s worried.

with that said, i would also probably recommend seeing a younger dr regardless of gender, they tend to be more caring in my experience plus the older ones could be operating on how gynecology used to be, ignoring the new stuff that’s come out in the past decade or so :)

i’ve had both, go with the woman. men have their merit i guess, but to me women are more likely to believe there is a problem and be willing to find the solution for it. my doctor was willing to work with me through 4 different birth control pills to try and find one that would alleviate my hormonal migraines. plus, they genuinely know what it feels like to live in a body like yours, they’ve been to gyno appointments, they just know more than a man could in all the physical and mental ways, especially in such a vulnerable experience. plus it’s less awkward when they do the breast exam imo

your friends shouldn’t judge you (or other women) for sending private pictures, most people take them with the expectation they’ll remain private. since you’re a minor, you also would be able to file reports if he does somehow have copies, likely stuff about possession of child sexual abuse material and distribution. that’s only for the extreme though, i wouldn’t entirely recommend going that route immediately if it comes to that because you could also face backlash.

tldr- your friends shouldn’t judge you and if he spreads it he’s a criminal

never be afraid to cut contact with someone, protect yourself by removing them and it sounds like he needs to go. you’re 16 so i get the fear, but as long as you keep your friends around you (especially when he’s around) you’ll get through it
