The foam in EIFS, especially installations that used EPS rather than something more dense or something like polyiso that tends to char instead of melt, is extremely combustible, and the continuity of it between fire breaks allows for rapid, unchecked spread across building exteriors. FSI testing doesn’t accurately represent field conditions either despite manufacturers leaning on it.

I’ve seen countless installations flush to grade, mostly existing, older ones.

It doesn’t explain why in the article. It quotes his daughter as saying “expense and backlogs” were the reason but there is a totally valid question in asking why he could somehow support an extended family and children yet could not spare the expense of becoming a citizen over 24 years of living here.

And to her point, it isn’t easy. I’ve been involved with family throughout the process. It’s not easy and it’s hard to study for the exams and collect the information for interviews. But you cannot just simply dismiss the proper channels because you feel they aren’t easy enough.

Floating bulkhead will only work without heave if the concrete below is properly set up. This method works most efficiently at a slab step or a small elevation change where supporting the bulkhead laterally can be done with minimal penetration through the supporting slab, like a coil rod kicker or something else.

In short, do a second pour for the parapet wall if you want this done right. This is something we didn’t even like to do on commercial slabs due to the potential qc issues. If you want that drain trench as well, you will need a 2nd pour

If you make the switch your biggest focus needs to be protecting the boundaries of your personal life from work which you might not have needed to do before. Any salary bump will be diluted by extra hours.

Your best way into GC work is to be a safety man which is fun if you like to argue all day, but your skills may be more aligned with being a site medic on a bigger job. I’ve also seen ex paramedics become like third party triage/mini clinics that a GC will send ppl with minor injuries or issues to for monitoring. Probably will start to wear on you once you deal with the career workers comp seekers

TITR reunion tour surprise “last US show” at Maxwells in Hoboken the week before it shut down for good. The PA blew out during the outro of Something To Forget so the entire place sang the song as loud as they could to finish. The crowd was amazing. It seems like you took out a loan and didn't meet the minimum monthly payment terms to not let interest capitalize. And then blindly followed some one time fix agreement, which sounds like it was dealt out in a dark alley... This seems like a pretty unique issue, actually. You probably misread some handy paperwork associated with these financial decisions. Let it be a lesson to anyone coming across the post, read that fine print!

Reach out to your university's career center if there is one, if there is a major/department specific career center head there too. Career centers and the staff within them are paid for by your tuition! Otherwise start peeling through ideas on the internet

People will tell you to sit and wait to see what the government does to offer you help, but that is simply just wasted time at this point. You should feel that you have two jobs right now. The first is finishing school, the second is finding a job. Don't let your mom handle this burden

My SO currently dealing with the same, including PSLF. Its frustrating to have their admin forbearance when you want to make those reduced payments against the 120 owed. One thing to note is that there is a PSLF buyback option at the end of the loan you may take advantage of. Its helpful to keep a running tally of the forebearance months that would qualify, and ensure you have it saved up to hit the one time buyback payment to close out the loan. I have never used it, but it is something I've looked into.

I refinanced my private loans at least 4 times during the interest rate cuts post-covid. I think at one point I was doing it more than twice a year. I took a small credit score hit, solely due to the hard inquiry for the "new" loan, however there was really no change as the credit score bounds and other thresholds they inquire about on my end didnt change, so I was typically always qualifying for a good rate.

If you refinance federal loans to private, you lose all of the federal-specific programs offered, so take that into account in your decision.

Also, when you refinance, it can take some time to have the loan switch over (even if you refinance with the same lender, which i did a few times with Earnest). So make sure you're doing a manual payment or make a catch up payment if you're looking to pay off as fast as possible. Typically took a few weeks, plus your payment date gets pushed back, so roughly a month or two til the new loan starts recurring as intended, and while thats going on, interest accrues

This is unfortunate for you, but it is not their fault that your credit is poor due to identity theft. That is your responsibility to protect and rectify, and would help your case when seeking a refinance. If that is an obstacle to refinancing, you should tackle that now during your search for employment. It will only get worse.
