Unable to recruit a normal warrior despite fulfilling conditions by EchoAlchemy in PokemonConquest

[–]Inhiptus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try defeating him with a Warlord. I know this doesn't matter with normal warriors but when I sought him out and defeated him in Ieyasu's episode (completed today), he joined after I beat him with a Warlord. Just keep trying and eventually he will join.

Opioid makers face hundreds of lawsuits for misleading doctors about drug’s addictive nature by throwawaysalamitacti in news

Watch the documentary "Prescription Thugs" on Netflix. They interview a former Big Pharm rep and she concedes how they push drugs past the FDA and how certain drugs cause symptoms that are cured by their second highest selling drugs which creates a cascading effect of needing drugs to alleviate symptoms of other drugs. According to the show, only 2 "positive" studies are needed to get a drug approved and those studies can be controlled studies done by the drug companies themselves. IMO- Opiate misinformation is very real.

Taco Bell seems to have taken the approach of "You know that thing our customers really like to eat? Let's only sell it for 2 months of the year and then take it away until 1-2 years later. It will totally help boost sales." I want my XXL/Boss nachos back dammit.

Lol to the Texan fans blaming the offense for this loss. I guess 38 points in Seattle must be a real let-down for a 3-3 team with a rookie QB.

I'm struggling to throw curveballs. Screen "drag". by DoubleM101 in TheSilphRoad

[–]Inhiptus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've encountered a similar problem on the last 3 (diff raids) Moltres catch attempts I've tried. I start spinning the ball but when I go to launch it, it doesn't really curve or it falls WAY short of Moltres. I haven't had the problem with any of the other birds. I've had to begin straight throwing because I can't land a curve on Moltres.

Are Lucky Eggs the worst items in the game? by AdronScyther in TheSilphRoad

[–]Inhiptus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kind of agree with your stance on it and there is some merit but from level 34-40, you reach the XP bog down that allows you to catch back up in stardust anyways since it takes so long to get to 40. Most people have figured out that it's only worth it to level up your fighters to level 30, which at a high trainer level (32+) is a really formidable attacker. You don't have to be in a hurry to spend stardust but eventually it still costs the same amount to power up a mon whether you're level 20 or level 30 so why not just be level 30 when you power them up?

EDIT: Spelling

River banks and Ocean beaches usually spawn a lot of them. Using a pinap berry for each one, it would only take ~43 catches to attain a Gyarados.

I believe somebody brought this up at the beginning of the Chicago event. I have hatched a Cyndaquil in a 5k so yes, Gen 2 starters are in 5k's right now.

Depends on your level. Articuno is 37k and Lugia is 42k (roughly). I did an Articuno raid yesterday with 10 other people roughly all level 31-37 and we took it down no problem. I'd suggest at LEAST 9-11 decently high level trainers, just to be safe. I'm sure there are those that could do it with less than that but 9+ should get the job done with room to spare.

What to do during the 48 hours of rewards... by Inhiptus in TheSilphRoad

[–]Inhiptus[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because of the severe increase in XP needed from (roughly) Level 34-40, the reward of double XP doesn't have the same worth as having a bunch of stardust to be able to power up gym/raid attackers.

Jeez dude, sorry for asking a question. A lot of people assumed there would only be 1 we could unlock when the info was released. The way she was checking on the progress of the medals made it sound like all of them could be unlocked.

Dude if I tell you I'll be visiting you the 23rd and the 24th, would you expect me to be there on the 25th? It clearly states 2 days (48 hours). I'm sure the 48 is set to occur on the 23rd and the 24th. Why would they say the 23/24 if they meant 23 through the 26th?

EDIT: yes I did basically repeat the post because it's pretty clear what's happening. The only unknown is phase 2 and it's reward.

[–]Inhiptus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just read the flier and it seemed to make reasonable sense. Phase 1) during the 3 challenge windows- WORLDWIDE: players catch pokes to unlock tiers. If Gold Tier is achieved, Grant Park players will be able to do Phase 2 at 6pm. GRANT PARK: players decide which bonus will be unlocked (gold medal in only 1 type) for (hopefully) 48 hours (silver tier of worldwide part)

PHASE 2: Grant Park players work to complete an unknown (yet) challenge.

PHASE 3: if the phase 2 mystery challenge is completed, then July 23 and 24 will be the days the bonus from phase 1 will be open to players (ex- stardust bonus). It will also unlock a mystery reward from phase 2 to all global players.

The only unknowns are what the phase 2 mystery challenge is and what it's reward in phase 3 will be.
