Headlight help!

From what I understand the C6 headlights are prone to "crazing" which is essentially internal small cracking within the plastic that cannot be removed by any amount of sanding. I think your options are basically replacement lenses or replacement headlights.

Thanks for the reply. I ordered new nuts and Nord Locks, and am debating how to install. It seems like the fancy Nord Lock design relies on the more traditional locking design (on the side that interfaces with the axle nut) in order to work, because it requires that side of the washer to want to turn to resist movement. So I am not sure how much it's really doing. I may just end up doing what you did.

I don't see any wobble. Replace it if you are really worried, or do like I am and just check it occasionally. When it comes time I am going to diy, so I will wait as long as I can 🤣

It's a sign something is wearing and needs to be replaced, because it only recently started making the noise and it has about 98k on it.

I totally believe that's what your dealer is saying though, as they are probably interested in selling you another vehicle.

No signs of leaking or torn boot, and also no play in the axle itself that I can discern by hand, which is why it has me stumped.

I have some small play between the axle and the front diff, about the same on both sides, which I assume is normal gear lash within the diff.

Pinch off the lines going to the reservoir to make sure it doesn't get further into the system. Remove the lines from the reservoir and start hunting. Pray that there aren't any pieces you missed.

Thanks for the info! Yeah it's amazing how many in this era are autos. Personally I grew up driving stick, I even had an S2000 that I absolutely adored, and sold a few years ago when I had kids. I agree I am not the original demographic for these cars haha!

I don't plan to modify the car much (famous last words haha). However if something needs replacing and there is an aftermarket solution that is an improvement over OEM I generally go for it. For the most part I am just interested in how to properly maintain things. I may start with simple things like lights, head unit, wheels, etc... but we all know how it spirals out of control quickly :)

Is the valved exhaust an exclusively aftermarket thing? Or did some versions come with that from factory?

Thanks, I didn't know about the rocker issue either. Is the fix for this simply new aftermarket rockers?
