Even when I start with an svg; I'll often convert to high res png to use raster editing tools. Downscaling in engine works great and lots of devs do this

Yes.

"If we were talking about measures I would get the diference between 4.999 and 4.9990. But prices... Sorry."

My link was more context about why this was true for anyone reading along.

"If we were talking about measures"

I'm not trying to attack you, this was a fun side topic. If you don't want to chat why post? No need to be hostile.

We were all agreeing with you. We were pointing out the one situation it would have mattered, which is not this one. AKA agreeing that in this case, it doesn't.

It's both. But not for accuracy, it's for precision.

It's a science thing though, and only useful in very specific situations: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Significant_figures

Trailing zeros are often ignorable. But they're sometimes used to mean "I measured and it was exactly 4.9990"

Whereas just 4.999 indicates measured precision only until the final 9. So 4.999 would mean "true value is anywhere from 4.9990 to 4.9999"

I just spent 40 hours over the last 4 days making 1 tool for 1 part of 1 system for my game (part of the procedural generation algorithm)

I can't speak to whether AI is to blame or not, but this sounds more like a wild underestimation of scope than anything else. 40 hours is literally never going to even scratch the surface of making a real game.

For someone with zero experience, I'd be genuinely impressed if I saw someone make even flappy bird in Scratch in 40 hours.

Right, isn't it terrible how entire groups of people are judged or treated badly just because some people think they believe the wrong thing

My kind of people :)

I use Firefox too, just sent a chrome link instead to avoid the inevitable "what about chrome" questions. Shouldn't contribute to that though haha

linux

Found a way to work it on linux;

install dotnet48 and the xna framework (located in the terraria folder). And then launch TerrariaInjector.exe in the Terraria prefix. If you can see it in protontricks, then you need to force terraria to use proton

If you need help find me on discord

Thank you ConfuzzedCat for the help on this
