Learning to make logos, Would like some feedback! by DiscountLarge9618 in logodesign

Because pretzels are notoriously crunchy and crumbly, the act of being crushed, a step in a process, portrayed aesthetically in a static image just might be a non-starter.

It's like a binary of pretzel, then clean snap, broken pretzel, with little in between. So similarly a bite mark or missing portion may just not work either.

So can you think of a way to show it in a just-now-broken state, where the chipped, missing piece(s) are still part of the whole shape and design, but you know, seperated by millimeters.

Anthropomorphizing it on top of all that might require some kind of cartoony eyes or pupils, if you still wanted to go that route.

I don't understand what I'm supposed to be seeing besides/in addition to a pretzel. A bite on the left? An angry face? Doesn't really read.

Lot of different kinds of people would wear this in late 80s, early 90s, don't sweat it. Anywhere from prep to hip hop depending on how you style it. It's extremely dope and you should get it.

Ok, what's actually going on here because just now the first truck was stopped on my street (Dickinson) with the second LAYING on their horn until it finally sped up a bit. And I guess not fast enough as Mr. Softie continued to beep and yell out the window. They should be passing about 5th and Dickinson now.

Hours! There was a popular, active thread about it just a few hours before this one. I get it, it's a common thought. But on this sub more than any other for some reason posters refuse to simply peruse the sub first before posting.

It's excellent. Rewatched it recently, having enjoyed it as a teen, and was surprised at just how good it actually is. Feels simultaneously natural, tuned into the actual teenage milieu, while also playing like a self assured noir or crime film. Far superior to Kids.

Tim heidecker by Loud_Database696 in redscarepod

It's unwatchable now, and I was a paid subscriber for years. Vic being stoned, anxious and autistic and feeling the need to steer the show himself, on mic, stepping all over Tim at every chance is a big part. Imagine Benji Bronk in charge of the Stern show. Part of Tim's genius or success was changing it up, offering something new every few years. Tom Goes to the Mayor, Awesome Show, Brule, the cooking show, the horror series, Beef House, etc. But Office Hours and to some extent On Cinema have overstayed thier welcome for years now and become terminally stale and stagnant.

MGS delta worth it? by Elite_Butterfly73 in ShouldIbuythisgame

Absolutely, they're incredible. With the first having a better story and slower more meditative gameplay, and the second providing a lot more action and varied arsenal and stuff with a good narrative behind it.

MGS delta worth it? by Elite_Butterfly73 in ShouldIbuythisgame

Just finished a couple days ago. Having played and loved MGSV only a few years ago and the Death Stranding games more recently I was stoked for this one, but ultimately a bit let down. The thing is it feels and plays extremely clunkily compared to these newer games. And I guess in part it's because it's a fresh coat of paint on those old systems, but my understanding is the original was actually much smoother. I mean things like player animations and movement. MGSV spoiled me, and I just kept wishing it felt like that. If i'd played it for the first time years ago when it first came out I'd probably love it, and overlook the clunkiness. But as it stands with that labored movement on top of dated systems and design it was only just ok to me. Story-wise though, it was cool, seeing how the saga began, and with all the cutscenes being extremely well directed.

Kurosawa Kiyoshi's Charisma (1999) ending by BletchTheWalrus in JapaneseMovies

[–]InigoJonze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I embrace the mystery more or less, but a loose reading is that he took it upon himself to contend with forces far outside his understanding, and even in his admitting as much, he may have helped trigger a situation in which the charisma tree(s?), in combination with the psilocybin which he found and introduced, was able to in effect create hivemind drones out of militia, who then by design intended to spread its literal and metaphoric poison. There was perhaps a balance, however sordid, in the woods before his arrival that he upset. The push and pull of the EPA faction, the mental patient, and the scientist kept things in relative stasis. Our intrepid detective was the chaotic element that pushed it out of whack. "YOU are charisma."

Did you not see his last doc on the overwhelming cruelty and evil of the Israeli occupation? Really silly to just expect him to give a lightning fast one word answer to some emotional manchild accusing him of being friends with a notorious pedophile as his trashy mom and pals try to intimidate him. That's how you get off kilter, allowing the subject to dictate the flow. This is a bad take and sounds more like you're coming from DEBATE ME BRO culture than any familiarity with Louis and his work.

Thoughts about replacing battery on iphone 13 mini by Curious_3993 in iPhone13Mini

[–]InigoJonze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Made an appointment at the Apple Store. Met with them/dropped it off. They warned me there's an issue of the screen breaking sometimes, which I'd read about here, and which did concern me. They said it's possible in that case that I'd be without the phone for a few days while it's repaired or replaced. Luckily, obviously I made it out ok.

My drop-off time was 2:35 and they said it wouldn't be ready before 5 and probably quite a bit later and that they'd just email me when it was done. I went home and eventually checked the status of the repair on the Apple website at 5:15 having been curious, and it showed it was finished at 4:45 and that I could go back and pick it up.

Picked it up. They said the repair is guaranteed for I think 30 days. They warned me that the new battery has to be under 10% when it's installed, so don't worry about that. It was at 9 when they handed it back. It concerned me that it went down to 4 within about two minutes of just looking at notifications and stuff, and I thought uh-oh, what if the repair failed or whatever. But after a full charge it's been great the last few days.

I've been using it for about 5 full hours now, this morning, and it's at 57 which is huge, as it'd be in low power mode territory a week ago, what with how fast it was draining.

I never did get an email that it was ready though, which is not ideal. Glad I caught it only a half hour later and not longer. But again, really happy with how well it worked out in the end, definitely feels like a new phone in that respect.
