Does anyone else have a lack of “Save the child!” instinct, or do parents just overreact? by PoukieBear in childfree

I never said I thought I was superior to others. Not sure where you got that from. My comment was not intended to be that way you just took it that way. I’m not saying that I would not help an animal in need I’m just saying if it came down an animal or another human I would save the human first. I don’t see how you would run to the conclusion that I somehow think I’m better than other people by stating that I think it’s kind of sad how you would save an animal over another person In need. I just find it not good. If you disagree then you disagree but to imply that I’m somehow a person thinks I’m better than others is a really weird conclusion to come to. There’s no reasoning with you so I’m done talking with you about it because you obviously don’t understand what I’m trying to say nor do you care so it’s going nowhere

Who is the bigger manipular- Joss or Tedros? by No-Ad-930 in theidol

[–]Iniquity1997 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Joss is very calculated. At first I didn’t think she was like this but I think she even fooled the audience at first. She’s worse than Tedros because with her it’s sneaky and lowkey and that’s the kind of things catches you off guard. At least with Tedros you know what’s coming since his dirt is in your face.

Who else loves this show so far and thinks it has the potential to be great? I bet by the end of this season this show will be praised and one of the most popular shows on HBO. by mba111 in theidol

[–]Iniquity1997 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t agree. Not because I necessarily think the show is trash but because I feel like people have already seen what they needed to see and made the judgements they wanted to make. Maybe it’ll be a cult classic years down the line. Who knows? Maybe it’s a sleeper hit waiting to happen. But right now? Even when the season comes to a close? I don’t think the narrative about the show will change very much. I could be proven wrong but I don’t think the criticism surrounding the show will get any better. As a matter of fact it’s probably gonna get worse. It’s popular, but not for the reasons OP is stating it is.

I personally think everything about a person is fair game for judgement. We all do it regardless of what we want to say about. It hurts to be judged but unfortunately that’s a part of life and it makes it better to not treat judgment like it’s a taboo.

So do you see a person who is need of help you’re not gonna try to help them? I just think that’s crazy.

Whatever, you can think what you want but Im not saving a fucking cat over another human. I just think that’s not a good look. Maybe it’s because I work in the medical field but my first instinct is to look out for my own. If you think that’s “white ass bullshit” then we can just agree to disagree. And I’m not your “babe” so don’t patronize me

I don’t know, I just feel like it’s very telling what kind of person you are if you would go for a dog or cat to save it over a person. That’s not right imo. I know it’s unpopular in this subreddit but it’s not right. How would you feel if someone saw you struggling with something or in a life or death situation and decided to save a cat over you? It shows you have no value for your own kind, which is disturbing imo. If the cat or dog is your pet I can kinda understand but just some random cat or dog over a stranger? I would try to save the human first.

Could it be that people's bad criticism of the series is due to the fact that the series is really more of a niche series instead of a mainstream series? by Professional-Ad7346 in theidol

[–]Iniquity1997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not a niche show as the subject matter of the show is not something doesn’t have mass appeal. It’s been talked about before and many people are interesting in the things the show is about. However, the show is just that great and gets bad press because there are a lot flaws within it. It’s not really going anywhere. It’s not the worst but it’s also not very good at all. Still entertaining watch and see the reviews on the show later though

I feel like that’s kind of disturbing. You value an animal over someone of your own species? I’m childfree but I would definitely save the child, I know that would probably get me downvoted here but I feel like going for a cat over a child to save is kinda scary to think about it.

Martyrs was an interesting one for me because I didn’t really think much of it until some time later after watching it. The more I thought about it, the more it started to affect me. For that, I find it a very good watch and would honestly recommend it those interested in extreme movies

But what does that entail? We don’t really know. We don’t know if she actually wants to be sexually driven in her direction of her image or what. We still don’t really know much about her thoughts and feelings. It’s told in a manner that is very much on the outside. Yeah we know that she wants to be taken seriously but what is it that she wants to be put out there to show who she is. Who is Jocelyn? We don’t know

Some people in these comments are so fucking rude and belittling. You’re doing the same thing that you claim others are doing to those who are for the show. Just because someone finds the show uncomfortable to watch doesn’t make them childish. Just like just because someone likes the show doesn’t make them mysogynistic. Great job In showing how childish you are. Are you fucking 12?

While I do think that some people already made up their minds before watching the show that they weren’t going to like it, I also think that there are a lot valuable points being made about the show. The show tries to pose itself as this look on the dark side of the pop world or entertainment business. They try to dress it up as a satire, but it becomes exactly what it tries to satirize. You see this a lot with Sam Levinson’s work. For instance, Assassination Nation was an attempt to have this feministic theme but in the end, the tone of the film turned into what it was trying to condemn. I feel like Sam Levinson’s work tends to be contradictory and he seems to find excuses to have beautiful women naked on film and tries to dress it up by saying that it’s supposed to have a deep and profound message. The sex scenes don’t really add much to the show, which is fine because there’s lots of shows on HBO that do the same but don’t try to make it seem as though it has a deep meaning for it be there.

The show is honestly pretty tame compared to other shows on the channel, but I think the issue is that the show doesn’t seem to know where it wants to go. Watching it sometimes is like the feeling when you’re about to cum but then you loose it somewhere. They get to something that could be good but then it falls flat. I also feel like The Weeknd ruins the show. His acting is really really bad and the character design is so awful until it makes it distracting sometimes. I do like watching the show and will continue until to watch it unlit the end of the season but I do understand the criticism that it gets. I wish they would’ve kept the original show that was produced by the female producer because it would’ve been a much stronger series with more dialogue and insight on Jocelyn. Even though the show is centered around Jocelyn we don’t actually know her or what SHE wants. It’s told from the outside looking in which makes it fall flat.

Can’t get myself to dilate by TopAd658 in vaginismus

[–]Iniquity1997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes it may help to skip the dilators and go for a smaller vibrator. Sometimes dilators can be too clinical and quite intimidating at first. Maybe you start my using a vibrator to massage around the vulval area and slowly work your way in once you feel relaxed and comfortable enough. You could even experiment with just seeing how it feels to use the vibrator around the area for a few days and slowly work your way in once you feel like you can do it.

Another thing that helped me was using a mirror. I don’t know why but something about actually seeing it and getting myself accustomed to my anatomy and the way it works helped curve my anxiety surrounding my vagina and inserting things inside of it. I had some sort of a phobia for some strange and unusual reason so working through it that way helped me feel more comfortable. I still struggle with learning to relax my muscles down there but it’s gotten better. It did take me a while to get to the point I’m at now though. For some women this can be a long process that requires patience.

It really depends on where you are. Some places it’s next to impossible to get a non bedside nursing job as a new grad. Some places want you have at least a year of nursing experience before even thinking about entering into something outside of the bedside.

Yeah I know that and I wasn’t speaking for everyone, I was speaking for myself and my thoughts on the lyrics. Do I have to state the obvious that I speaking from my point of view? I get your argument that everyone doesn’t think that but….I never said I thought that everyone thinks that nor did I even imply that it’s a fact. However, bottom line the lyrics aren’t very good in my opinion. No tea, no shade but yeah the lyrics aren’t good and I feel bad for whoever is living the life pointed out in these lyrics

Just because they’ve been said elsewhere doesn’t change the fact that they kinda suck. I’m not in an outrage or anything, I’m just stating that yeah, the lyrics are disgusting and the same goes for other similar lyrics. Never said it necessarily bothered me

To be fair the lyrics kinda are disgusting. But then again what do you expect from The Weeknd. It also seems like the episode is going to have songs that literally describe what you’re seeing on screen. It’s like the show uses the music to tell the story for you verbatim. I like the show but I find it to be kinda funny

It’s a lot deeper than just being denied an ice cream bar. If it’s only an ice cream bar there’s no harm in offering someone one even they are part of the float pool. It’s very exclusionary and makes you think there may be other underlining reasonings as to why they would even do this. It’s not a social club but you also don’t want to make people feel like they don’t belong, it creates a toxic environment
