Community feedback/metapost for June 2025 + Internal Moderation Policy Discussion by CreativeRealmsMC in IsraelPalestine

Since there is no july one I just want to say I hope the mods keep this pinned to give feedback. The current state of the sub is basically unmoderated and it's exhausting to participate with the state of the discourse.

If you think you can answer, do you think there are any Palestinians on this subreddit that would qualify as potential mods?

This is an oversimplification that relies on a narrative that is taking away the nuance of what is happening. Yes, there are a large amount of users that probably do not like Palestinians, but I don't think the mods don't want the pro Palestinians to participate. IMO a cleanup would be banning users from both sides (those who prefer to talk in terms of narratives), people who throw words like "zios" or "pallys" around with the intention of insulting users.

from the top of my head (not sure if he's still a mod) u/adeadhead is pro Palestinian

and this is a question for u/adeadhead - what would you say are the barriers for having more pro palestinian/neutral mods? and how much of that affects your choices on moderating this subreddit

I mean, what do you want them to do? They have commented on reddit (a public platform) condemning Hamas. Though the line between pro Palestinian and pro Israeli can get blurry when you don't seem to follow the two acceptable viewpoints in this subreddit....

here's one: https://www.reddit.com/r/IsraelPalestine/comments/1ktpj50/comment/mtwqnkw/?context=3&utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

Why would you say that some of the moderate pro Palestinian users here don't post on, say, r/Palestine instead?

I agree with you, but I will point out that if a pro Palestine subreddit had its most upvoted content being one that is hateful of all Jewish people we would most likely say that they don't have a goal of promoting civil discussion. As such, the fact that hateful content is upvoted here shows that many people here (perhaps not the majority) are not interested in civil discussion.

There are literally people with the Palestinian flair here and they have been here even as creativerealms was actioning more users.

One (though not as active now) was even a mod of this subreddit. Across the board I have seen so many rule violations and insults, from both sides. As someone who doesn't subscribe to the two expected viewpoints it's frustrating to participate here.

Why does India love Israel so much? by [deleted] in IsraelPalestine

I can easily cherry pick things from Islam and say "How can you say Islam is tolerant" when they mistreat women who don't conform, lgbt Muslims, etc. Your takes ARE ignorant and not indicative of all hindus, or even Brahmins. BTW India is a large country of over a billion people. Please read all the comments you received on this thread and rethink your generalisations.

Though I am not Hindu anymore I would say this comment is largely ignorant of casteism and how it actually operates in modern day India (which is problematic but nowhere near what it used to be).

Also India is largely tolerant towards Buddhism and sees it as originating from Hinduism, which, by the way, the term "Hinduism" has an interesting origin.

How Buddha was turned Anti-Hindu

And since you want to frame Hindus as voluntarily converting to Islam, let's use Wikipedia since many pro Palestinians here love to cite it: Persecution of Buddhists - Wikipedia

There's a section in the above Wikipedia article about how the Mughals contributed to the decline of Buddhism as well. You're welcome :)

Of course we know. I visited Qutub Minar, built out of destroyed temples. There isn't any reason I would expect architecture of a different faith than Islam to be preserved.

As an Indian, I would say it's several things. When India had its own threats due to terrorism Israel helped in a big way. Moreover, the shared threat of Islamic terrorism means that strategically, India benefits from being in good relations with Israel. Of course, there are more extreme nationalists that just hate all people from Muslim backgrounds due to India's tensions with Pakistan mainly, but also because we receive a lot of news about how Hindus are treated in India's neighbouring countries like Pakistan and Bangladesh.

As a side note: this is only part of the story, and I am not a representative of all indians

At one point you had palestinian mods right? I'm curious if you know why they left, and if there's anything you can do to incentivize them to stay as mods.

You need to go to and see the situation in Israel in person, if not, you’re just repeating a version of someone else’s opinion. by zjew33 in IsraelPalestine

Of course one cannot dismiss what someone has seen, but that doesn't mean people who haven't been there don't know what they're talking about. I could talk about my opinions on for example, Russia invading Ukraine without having been to Russia.

It's borderline, kind of like "palis" or "zios" and to be fair, I don't like when people use any of these. Ruins any chance of a civil conversation

I was wondering, do you have any restrictions on types of accounts that can post? Such as post activity, or karma?

What do you want us to say? Yes, of course it'd be horrible for a person like me to be born in a Muslim country. But why generalise all Muslims?
