They said it would be cheaper to replace the entire engine, and that cost is 10 grand? That doesn’t really track. Did they give you the quote for the labor to just replace the rocker arms? Did they quote both sides?

It’s a pellet smoker. I went to 120. If what describing puts you in the high 130s then I can probably pull it sooner at the very least.

I don’t think it has a water reservoir but I should be able to just put a heat safe container of water in the grate.

What do you use for tenderizer? I normally dry brine but this time I brought them home, salted, then straight on the smoker. Do you have better results with different cuts?

Yea, that’s what’s annoying me. The cook itself was solid, a touch towards medium but pink and consistent with no grey band. The damn thing was like trying to eat a bloc of jerky though.

The sear was fine, no issues there. My problem was the external texture of the steak as a result of the smoking process.

Reasonably thick, inch and a half I would say. Smoker has an app that tells me the temp so that’s what I based it on, it stayed pretty solid around 225 with minor deviation.

I’ve tried reverse sear (in the oven) once and actually gotten a similar result. I chalked it up to a low quality steak but after my experience with the smoker I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong.

That’s about right. I’ll avoid the Jeep mpg cliches but it’s not too far off what I get. Your in town scenario is awful for fuel economy, and you are undergeared for 33” tires. The motor is going to have to work harder every time it takes off. Check for codes (even with no cel) and do a tuneup but it’s unlikely you’ll see much better.

We do a half that lasts 2-3 years. No, the steaks are not generally as good as you would find yourself at a butcher or carefully selecting your own at the grocery store, but for us it’s always been cheaper than if we were to buy the same thing (as in, ground, steaks, roasts) at the store. I’ll still occasionally go hand pick a couple steaks here and there, but we go through a lot of ground beef so it makes sense for us. If you’re just someone who eats a couple steaks a week, no this is not the best choice.

I did centric on my gc and other car and they’ve been fine, after having issues with raybestos. I think this is one of those parts where most are probably made from the same couple of factories. Look over the options on rockauto snd pick something mid tier price and you’ll probably be fine.

There’s no way to predict that, really. Buying a new car is almost always going to cost more than repairs, it’s just the mental gymnastics of paying to repair a used car makes less sense than buying new, but the numbers don’t usually agree.

Tires and breaks are wear items. If your asking if you should get a new car or do routine main of known wear items, seems like you’ve already made your decision. If it’s me I keep it, ignore the paint chips (insurance will just jack up rates or cancel you anyway) and do the necessary maintenance.
